𝐈𝐇𝐓𝐌 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀.𝐘. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔–𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕

The Mabalacat City College – Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) Institute Student Council officially welcomed 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year Tourism and Hospitality Management students through the IHTM Upperclassmen Online Orientation held on August 14, 2026, via MS Teams for Academic Year 2026–2027.

Held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the orientation served as a platform to prepare students for another academic year by strengthening their understanding of IHTM’s vision, mission, core values, academic policies, student support services, and institutional regulations.

The program started with the Opening Ceremonies, followed by opening remarks from IHTM Dean 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨 and an inspirational message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA), 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐒. 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚. An ice breaker then set the tone for an engaging session before the introduction of the IHTM faculty members and student leaders from the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines (LTSP), Council of Hospitality Management Students (CHMS), and Institute Student Council (ISC).

Key discussions followed, including a review of school policies led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐢𝐞𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐒. 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Program Head.

The orientation also highlighted the roles and activities of IHTM Performing Arts, which was introduced by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐡𝐨𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧, IHTM P.A. President. Meanwhile, student organizations under the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM), including LTSP and CHMS, introduced their platforms and warmly welcomed the attendees.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐚 𝐆. 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚, IHTM Governor.

Beyond welcoming students back, the activity served as a renewed beginning for IHTM upperclassmen, inspiring professionalism, responsibility, accountability, and active engagement throughout the academic year.

SUSPENSION OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

In response to the announcement of Mabalacat City Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino, all face-to-face classes for all levels in both public and private schools are suspended today, August 14, 2026 (Friday), due to the continuing unfavorable weather conditions brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

In view of this suspension, IHTM students are advised to stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and prioritize their safety. Students are also encouraged to remain connected with their instructors and regularly check official communication channels for further instructions and updates regarding alternative learning arrangements.

Please stay safe, stay dry, and continue to look after one another. 💗🌧️
