DECEMBER 08, 2023 | Seminar on "Social Work in Medical Setting" Usapang Medical: Serbisyong May Malasakit
In order to understand the dynamic intersection of social work and medical setting and the role that social workers in this setting provide, the seminar gave Bachelor of Science in Social Work students knowledge about how social work knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values are applied to the fields of health and medicine.
For the seminar to be successful, we are grateful to Ms. Leah Limas Sotto, our resource speaker and Social Welfare Officer II at Malasakit Center, Salvacion Oppus Yñiguez Memorial Provincial Hospital, for giving her valuable time, knowledge, and expertise on the topic to the students.

SEMINAR ON: ONLINE SEXUAL ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN( OSAEC)
Online sexual abuse or exploitation of children (OSAEC) refers to the use of ICT
as a means to abuse and/or exploit children sexually, which includes
cases in which offline child abuse and/or exploitation is combined with
an online component.
While the internet promises many benefits to children, it can also be the most dangerous place for them. The issue remains to be an alarming global concern, with millions of children having experienced being forced to perform sexual acts online, or being blackmailed for sexual purposes. Hundreds of millions of child sexual abuse materials are also shared and traded on the internet.
Therefore, we must be knowledgeable and aware regarding this matter. Let us guide our children and protect them.
