A Memorable Suroy-Suroy Experience for our NTNU students! ๐ฟ๐
Last March 21, 2026, our visiting students from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) enjoyed a well-deserved rest and relaxation activity as part of their immersion program in Maasin City. The group had a refreshing swim at the beautiful Cagnituan Falls and later experienced a breathtaking sunset viewing at Noahโs Ark. It was truly a wonderful opportunity for the students to relax, appreciate nature, and experience the warm hospitality of our community.
This meaningful activity was organized by the LGU Maasin City, and was carefully planned and coordinated by City Administrator Sir Lourse E. Ortega. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Luz Verano Mercado for her generosity and warm welcome to the students, and for the thoughtful idea of organizing this suroy-suroy so they could feel at home and truly appreciate the beauty of Maasin City.
Special thanks as well to Sir Nacional "Nikko" V. Mercado for extending the invitation and accommodating the Norwegian students from the very start of their visit, and for always taking time to personally show his pag-abi-abi to the students despite his busy schedule.
Our appreciation also goes to Barangay Captain Hon. Jesse T. Abiรฑon of Brgy. Cagnituan for warmly receiving the group and preparing fresh buko for the studentsโsomething they absolutely loved!
We also thank our dedicated drivers Kuya Jenifer Cabilao aka "kuya Insik" and Kuya Juanillio Arbiol aka "AirJuanillio"and our tour guide Sir Sam PV for their assistance, coordination, and for making sure the trip was smooth and enjoyable for everyone.
Indeed, this suroy-suroy will remain a memorable experience for our NTNU students as they continue their immersion journey with us.
Daghang Salamat, Maasin City! ๐ฉท๐ฉท
