JUST IN | With the campus journalists of The Bridge and Ang Daloy, the Institution’s Official Student Publications for English and Filipino, Maryknoll School of Lupon, Inc. has been acknowledged as the OVERALL 3RD RUNNER UP (SECONDARY LEVEL) of the 2024 Division Schools Press Conference conducted last January 26-30 in the Municipality of Cateel, Davao Oriental, announced today, February 2, 2024.

The campus journalists of Maryknoll School of Lupon, Inc., underwent three days of transformative learning in preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference. This immersive dive into the world of storytelling, fact-finding, and ethical reporting, each day brought a new layer of expertise and enthusiasm to these budding journalists.

With exceptional mentors steering discussions and hands-on workshops, the training offered a fertile ground for aspiring writers to sow the seeds of journalistic prowess. As the curtain drew on this enriching experience, participants left with sharpened skills, eager hearts, and an unwavering commitment to the noble pursuit of truth through their words.

The selected Campus Journalists of The Bridge (English - Secondary) and Ang Daloy (Filipino - Secondary), the esteemed Student Publications of Maryknoll School of Lupon, Inc. took part in the Kapehan sa PIA Talk Show by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) held at NCCC Lupon in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Lupon (LGU Lupon) with their guest, Col. Edgar delos Reyes, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 701st Infantry Brigade.

The event provided a platform for these diligent young journalists to pose insightful questions with a particular focus on the recent challenges in Mindanao. Their active participation demonstrated a commitment to fostering informed discourse and journalistic excellence, shedding light on the crucial role student journalists play in shaping public perception.
