St. Peter Baptist College Foundation, Inc., celebrates a historic milestone as Clare Yuson Perez secured Rank 2 in the recently concluded 2026 Search for Outstanding Student Teachers of the Bicol Region.
The final screening was held on March 18, 2026, at the Bicol University College of Education in Daraga, Albay, bringing together the most outstanding student teachers across the region under three categories: Elementary, Special Education, and Secondary.
Representing SPBCF in its first-ever participation in this prestigious annual competition, Perez, a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics student, demonstrated exceptional competence, passion, and excellence in the field of teaching.
Out of 35 Secondary Level delegates from participating colleges and universities, Perez first secured a spot in the Top 10 finalists during the elimination round held on March 6, 2026, at the same venue. The elimination phase consisted of on-the-spot lesson planning and an initial interview, where she showcased her content mastery, instructional planning skills, and professional readiness.
Advancing to the final screening, Perez once again proved her caliber through a series of rigorous evaluations, including a microteaching demonstration, reflective essay writing, and a final panel interview. Her outstanding performance earned her a place among the Top 5 finalists, ultimately rising to Rank 2 in the Secondary Category.
She will attend the Awarding Ceremony on March 24, 2026, at the Albay Astrodome during the 2026 Regional Student Teachers' Congress. Her remarkable achievement highlights not only her dedication and perseverance but also marks a defining moment for SPBCF on the regional stage. Truly, a Peterian spirit shines throughโresilient, passionate, and committed to excellence.
Perez extends her heartfelt gratitude to all the mentors, coaches, classmates, and the entire SPBCF community whose unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement made this achievement possible.
Clare, we are incredibly proud of you. Your success inspires the entire SPBCF community. Once a Peterian, Always a Peterian! Congratulations!
