Following Memorandum Circular No. 127, alternative work arrangements for government offices in Lucena City will take effect starting 12:00 noon today, August 17.
Alternative learning modes will also be implemented for all levels in both public and private schools, unless otherwise directed.
Essential services, including health, disaster response, and other vital operations, will continue.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 127, government offices are directed to shift to appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces starting 12:00 noon on August 17, 2026:

📍 National Capital Region (NCR)
📍 Zambales
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Cavite
📍 Batangas
📍 Rizal
📍 Laguna
📍 Quezon
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Lucena East VIII Educators Launch ‘ILAW Lesson Plan’ Workshop
LUCENA CITY — Lucena East VIII Elementary School marked a major milestone in teacher professional development on July 31, 2026, as 48 faculty members assembled at the school covered court for an intensive workshop titled "Designing ILAW Lesson Plan."
Under the leadership of Principal Dr. Maria Cristina V. De Torres, the afternoon event brought together educators across grade levels for a focused effort on refining classroom preparation. The covered court was transformed into a collaborative learning space where teachers engaged in strategic discussions aimed at elevating standard daily lessons into inspiring, structured learning experiences.
Policy & Purpose: Grounded in Excellence
Anchored in DepEd Guidelines and RA 10533
Behind the workshop's practical exercises lies a strong regulatory foundation. The initiative directly supports the Department of Education’s Policy Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation for the K–12 Basic Education Program, mandated under Republic Act No. 10533 (the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013).
As emphasized during the opening session, meticulous daily planning is fundamental to delivery in the classroom. By adhering to national standards, the program ensures that every teacher is equipped to manage their classes efficiently while guaranteeing that learning outcomes are consistently achieved across all student demographics.
Workshop & Collaboration: Crafting the ILAW Framework
Hands-On Collaboration in Action
The core of the afternoon featured an interactive workshop facilitated by Crestita L. Arnigo. Following an in-depth lecture on the components of an effective ILAW lesson plan, teachers transitioned from passive listeners to active creators during a dedicated working session from 4:10 PM to 4:45 PM.
Working in teams, participants drafted, debated, and presented custom lesson plans for real-time peer feedback. The session provided a practical space for educators to exchange dynamic teaching techniques, troubleshoot common instructional challenges, and refine their lesson structures for immediate classroom application.

Honoring Dedication and Educational Leadership
The success of the event was anchored by seamless organization and strong leadership. Master of Ceremonies Nilda N. Noda guided the proceedings throughout the afternoon, which opened with an inspiring prayer led by Aleli Joy P. Dalisay.
Principal Dr. Maria Cristina V. De Torres set the tone with welcoming remarks that urged teachers to embrace continuous professional growth. To cap off the day, Dr. De Torres personally awarded certificates of completion to all 48 participants, recognizing their time, effort, and commitment to instructional excellence.

Students' Discipline During the Return to
Classrooms After the Flag Ceremony

Following the flag ceremony, the students of Lucena East VIII Elementary School demonstrated commendable discipline and exemplary behavior while returning to their respective classrooms. They formed orderly lines, patiently waited for their turn, and followed the directions of their class advisers and school personnel without hesitation.
Throughout the activity, the students exhibited respect, self-control, and cooperation. They maintained proper spacing while walking, refrained from pushing or running, and observed silence or spoke only in appropriate tones. Their orderly conduct ensured a safe and organized movement from the assembly area to their classrooms.
The students' behavior reflected the school's commitment to instilling good manners, respect, and discipline. Their ability to follow instructions promptly and demonstrate courtesy toward their classmates and teachers is a clear manifestation of the values being nurtured within the school community.
Overall, the transition from the flag ceremony to the classrooms was smooth, efficient, and well-managed.
