In response to the Department of Educationโ€™s implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education, the Basic Education Department of Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc. (SHC) participated in an online demonstration of the Updated Report Card Generator on October 5, 2026, via Zoom.

The activity was facilitated by the schoolโ€™s Information, Communications and Educational Technology (ICET) staff and was designed to orient faculty members on the updated electronic tools aligned with the new academic calendar and grading periods.

The initiative comes as DepEd implements DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026, โ€œGuidelines on the Implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education.โ€ The policy replaces the traditional four-quarter structure with three academic terms to provide longer and more flexible instructional periods, optimize instructional time, reduce disruptions, and help make teachersโ€™ workloads more manageable. Private schools may also adopt the three-term calendar subject to applicable requirements.

During the online demonstration, the ICET staff presented the updated features and functions of the Electronic Class Record and Report Card Generator, particularly the modifications necessary to accommodate the three-term academic structure.

Faculty members were guided through the procedures for encoding learnersโ€™ academic records, computing grades, managing information for each term, and generating report cards. The demonstration emphasized accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in handling learnersโ€™ academic data under the updated system.

The demonstration underscores the institutionโ€™s continuing commitment to innovation, accuracy, efficiency, and quality educational service as it transitions to the three-term academic structure.
