ON THE NEW DESIGN OF P1,000 BILL

"The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSoP) is deeply saddened to hear the decision of the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas to change the design of the 1000-Peso Bill, removing the images of three Filipino World War II heroes – Josefa Llanes Escoda, General Vicente Lim, and Jose Abad Santos, to be replaced by an image of the Philippine Eagle. The BSoP earnestly believes that while the Philippine Eagle, in itself, is a source of pride, the current design of the 1000-Peso Bill depicts the greatness of the Filipino heritage and bears more relevance in history."
