The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stated that 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 is either a formal or informal union where at least one of the parties is of minority age.

In the Philippines, 9.7% of girls between the ages of 15 and 19 are already involved in some sort of union, making our country rank tenth with the highest number of girls married before the age of 18, as stated by the Girls Not Brides organization.

There are cases of arranged marriages that are not documented. Not only in the Philippines but all over the world. Girls as young as 10 years old are married to older men, and approximately every 7 seconds, one girl under the age of 15 is married.

This advocacy campaign video 𝒂𝒊𝒎𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 Quezon National High School Senior High School students 𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒆𝒔, especially the issue of child marriage that is happening in Surigao del Norte, wherein their leader, "Senior Agila," is the culprit of the aforementioned problem, denying that he is guilty about the said issue, but in the long run, the head of a religious organization in Socorro, Surigao del Norte, has been charged with numerous counts of trafficking and child abuse before a Surigao del Norte court, according to an article from ABS-CBN News. In addition, the front page of the charge sheet or information provided to the media indicates that Jey Rence Quilario, also known as "Senior Agila," and 12 other individuals are accused of qualified trafficking in persons, facilitation of child marriage, solemnization of child marriage, and child abuse.
