✨ Yesterday was truly a memorable day! ✨
We shared laughter and stories over a simple gathering, followed by a meaningful ceremony honoring Josefa Llanes Escoda. Each patrol proudly presented their lively yells, and the excitement continued with a fun and engaging quiz bee. 🌿📚

Beyond the activities, our greatest takeaway was learning the true essence of teamwork, generosity, respect, and love for one another — values that will surely guide us as Girl Scouts. 💚💛

Today is Community Day brought flavors to life as we welcomed food vendors into our school. With each vendor sharing the story behind their treats, students were not only encouraged to buy but also inspired to savor the experience together.💚✨

Yesterday, the SMEX GSP, together with the SSLG and YES-O, united in celebrating Environmental Day🍀. With shared purpose and teamwork, we dedicated our efforts to cleaning our school, transforming it into a space that reflects not only order and beauty but also our love and respect for our environment.🍀💚

Today, we celebrate Troop Leaders Day with deep gratitude and respect for our leaders who tirelessly guide, support, and inspire us in every step of our scouting journey.✨ We thank them for their patience, dedication, and sacrifices in shaping us into responsible, disciplined, and kind individuals. ✨Their leadership does not only teach us skills but also values that we will carry throughout our lives. ✨On this special day, we honor and appreciate their unwavering commitment, and we say a heartfelt thank you for being the light and strength of our troop.✨💚

We offered a short poem, and some also shared their talents in dancing and singing. ☘️✨We also gave heartfelt messages to our troop leaders and prepared simple gifts as appreciation for them.✨☘️

HEY GIRLIES TARA NA AT MAKISAYA💚✨

As the sun dipped below the horizon on March 7, 2025, the LCNHS: Silangang Mayao Extension in Lucena City buzzed with excitement. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter and chatter as Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts from various public and private schools gathered for the much-anticipated Senior and Cadet Overnight Camp, themed "Women of Today for the Girls of Tomorrow." This event promised not just an adventure, but a transformative experience aimed at empowering young women.
Upon arrival at 2:30 PM, the campers settled into their designated areas, their faces glowing with anticipation. The atmosphere was electric, a blend of youthful energy and the spirit of camaraderie. As the clock struck 5:00 PM, the camp officially commenced with an Opening Ceremony that set the tone for the days ahead. The opening prayer resonated through the gathering, followed by the Entrance of Colors, a moment that instilled pride and unity among the participants. Ms. Mylyn A. De Torres, the Council Executive, presented the campers and staff followed by the declaration of camp opening by Ms. Sherlyn P. Peñaflor, camp director.
The evening unfolded with a delightful dinner at 7:00 PM, where friendships began to blossom over shared meals. As night fell, the campers gathered around the campfire at 8:00 PM, where stories were exchanged, songs were sung, and bonds were forged. This was not just a campfire; it was a celebration of sisterhood, where each girl felt empowered to share her voice and talents.
The next morning, the day began early at 5:00 AM with a reflective gathering known as Scout's Own. This serene moment allowed the campers to set their intentions for the day, fostering a sense of mindfulness and purpose. After a hearty breakfast, the group departed for Merchan Resort, where the real adventure awaited.
At 8:30 AM, the campers engaged in a series of exhilarating activities that fostered teamwork and collaboration during their team-building experience. Laughter and encouragement filled the air as they navigated through various challenges, learning the true meaning of teamwork and resilience. The morning culminated in a well-deserved lunch at 11:30 AM, where the girls shared stories of their triumphs and the lessons learned from the obstacles they had overcome.
As the camp drew to a close, the participants gathered for the Closing Ceremony at 12:30 PM. This reflective time allowed each camper to express their gratitude and share their experiences. The sense of accomplishment was palpable as they recognized the skills they had developed and the friendships they had formed. Each girl left with a badge earned through their hard work in preparedness, environment, or the arts, a tangible reminder of their growth during the camp.
By 1:00 PM, as the campers departed from Merchan Resort, they carried with them not just badges, but a renewed sense of confidence and a commitment to support one another as they navigated their journeys ahead. The Senior and Cadet Overnight Camp was more than just an event; it was a powerful reminder that the women of today are shaping the girls of tomorrow, inspiring them to dream big and lead with courage.
In conclusion, the camp was an unforgettable experience filled with learning, friendship, and fun. The participants left with enhanced skills, a supportive community, and the knowledge that they are part of a legacy of strong women dedicated to making a difference. As they returned to their daily lives, they were not just Girl Scouts; they were empowered young women ready to take on the world.

The Chief Girl Scout Medal, the Girl Scouts of the Philippines’ highest and most prestigious award, which was launched in 1976, highlights the Girl Scout’s role in nation-building as exemplified by the Chief Girl Scout and her distinguished leadership and vital contribution to nation-building. It is a continuing incentive that Senior or Cadet Girl Scouts can aspire for as they become actively involved in community conduct and national affairs.

The scheme recognizes Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts who meet the criteria for outstanding service to their community. It is built on the Girl Scout’s concept of developing the total Scout, making her well-rounded in all aspects – spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social.

While standards of achievement are necessary, there is no competition with others. Each Scout is judged according to her individual ability and leadership capabilities.

Parenthetically, Lucena City National High School- Silangang Mayao Extension has three CGSMS candidates namely, Zyjane Zeta (Grade 7), Godwin Grace Lawig (Grade 10), and Kaiseren Daniela Margareth Las Morias (Grade 10) who works on community development projects that focus on health.

While everyone else is taking a break from their hectic schoolwork, these senior girl scouts are not laying low a bit. Last February 17 and 18, 2024, these girls made breakthroughs in their projects as they obtained partnerships with both LGU, NGO and private individuals.

Zeta was joined by Ms. Chelsie Mae Chavez, Tau Gamma Phi Triskelions’ Grand Fraternity Talao-talao Chapter, and Kagawad Encarnacion Albura in forming her communal garden project. While Las Morias and Lawig were backed by the Sangguniang Baranggay of Silangang Mayao spearheaded by Brgy. Chairman Ricardo J . Lafuente, Kagawad Cristal Abustan, Kagawad Babylyn Daleon, and Brgy. Admin Juliet Lafuente in their feeding programs.

These weekend activities were guided by their troop leaders Ma'am Kristia C. Frankie, Ma'am Ma. Aida Rowena A. Gutlay, and Ma'am Janeth G. Las Morias.

Today, LCNHS- SMEx senior girl scouts made history as we celebrate our first ever Pancake Day! 💚

In some countries, Pancake Day is celebrated in February or March, a day before the Lenten season starts. It is a time of "giving things up". That means that there were certain foods that people were not allowed to eat. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during lent.
