CNHS Child Protection Summit: A Safe Space Learning Environment 💜💚💛

On August 7, 2026, the CNHS Child Protection Summit brings together learners, personnel, and partners to strengthen our shared commitment to a safe, inclusive, and motivating school environment.

Ms. Jella A. Maglente, the school’s Guidance Counselor II, focuses on the salient points of DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026 – Ensuring Safe and Motivating Learning Environment, with emphasis on the levels of offenses and corresponding sanctions, helping the school community understand accountability, proper conduct, and responsible decision-making.

On session 2, PSSG. Ana M. Paral, PCR, PNCO of PNP-Lucena talks about Bullying, Attack Preparedness, and Illegal Drugs, highlighting safety, prevention, awareness, and community partnership.

Together, these sessions aim to empower everyone to recognize risks, respond appropriately, uphold discipline, and contribute to a school where every learner is protected, respected, heard, and given a safe space to learn and thrive.

Cotta National High School (CNHS) strengthened its commitment to building a culture of research through a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session for teachers titled “Becoming a Teacher-Researcher: Conducting Action and Basic Research That Starts in Your Own Classroom” on August 13, 2026, at the CNHS Library.

The activity formed part of the school’s BRIDGES Program under the School Research Program, an initiative designed to strengthen research engagement, innovation, knowledge sharing, and evidence-informed practices across the school community.

The session was spearheaded by Mr. Christian Genesis R. Guinto, School Research Coordinator, who guided teachers through the essential processes and considerations in conducting educational research in accordance with Department of Education (DepEd) standards and research management guidelines.

The SLAC provided teachers with practical insights into how research can begin with classroom experiences, challenges, observations, and questions. The discussion covered the processes involved in developing and conducting both action research and basic research, helping teachers understand how systematic inquiry can be used to address educational concerns and generate evidence that can contribute to improved teaching and learning practices.

Mr. Guinto also presented the school’s research initiatives and plans under the BRIDGES Program, along with announcements concerning upcoming research-related activities. These initiatives seek to encourage teachers to become more actively involved in research and contribute to a stronger and more sustainable research culture within CNHS.

As part of the school’s continuing effort to promote research dissemination and utilization, the session also featured the sharing of selected results and findings from previously completed research manuscripts. The dissemination provided teachers with opportunities to learn from completed studies and see how research findings can inform educational practice and support school improvement.

The activity was supported by Mr. Lowell B. Busa, Principal I, and Ms. Mary Claire Miguel, SEPS-PAR of SGOD, whose support further strengthened the school’s efforts to promote teacher engagement in research and evidence-informed educational practices.

Through the BRIDGES Program and its continuing School Research Program initiatives, CNHS continues to encourage teachers to move beyond simply identifying classroom challenges toward systematically investigating them, generating evidence, sharing knowledge, and developing solutions that can contribute to meaningful improvements in teaching and learning.

WORK AND CLASSES SUSPENDED | August 13, 2026

Following Memorandum Circular No. 125, work in government offices and classes in all levels, public and private, are suspended starting 3:00 PM today, August 13, in Lucena City and other areas in Quezon.

Essential government services will continue to operate as needed.
