WORLD THINKING DAY 2026

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) and WAGGGS celebrate World Thinking Day 2026 (February 22, 2026) with the theme "Our Friendship". This theme marks the 100th anniversary of the event, focusing on unity, global sisterhood, and fostering meaningful, healthy connections.

Lucena West II Elementary School proudly joins the celebration as it encourages all Star and Junior Girl Scouts together with their leaders in exploring what makes a healthy friendship and strengthening community, both locally and globally.

Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship. It is an opportunity to celebrate the Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement speak out on issues that affect young women and fundraise for 11.2 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 153 countries.

40 Lucena West II Star Girl Scouts proudly join the GSP Lucena City Girl Scout Council STAR REVEL 2026. A day filled with fun, learning, and meaningful activities centered on friendship and community.

Star Revel is a wonderful opportunity for young Girl Scouts to grow, explore their talents, and build confidence through exciting challenges related to Spirituality and Well‑being, Arts, and World Community. It’s a celebration of sisterhood, creativity, and the joyful spirit of scouting.

The BSP West District Overnight Camping 2026 brings together Scouts from different schools for two days of learning, camaraderie, and outdoor fun. With a well‑organized committee and a packed schedule, this camp is designed to build skills, strengthen leadership, and promote teamwork among participants.

Lucena West II Elementary School Boy Scouts get the chance to learn, explore, and overcome challenges in a supportive environment. The camp also highlights teamwork and friendly competition through games and relays that encourage cooperation and sportsmanship.

Miyerkules ng Abo: Isang Mapagpakumbabang Simula ng Paglalakbay sa Kuwaresma

Ang Miyerkules ng Abo ang nagsisimula ng Kuwaresma, isang 40‑araw na panahon ng pagninilay, pagsisisi, at espirituwal na paghahanda na ipinagdiriwang ng maraming Kristiyano sa buong mundo. Ito ay ginaganap 46 na araw bago ang Pasko ng Pagkabuhay, at nagsisilbing paalala ng kahalagahan ng panalangin, pag-aayuno, at pagtulong sa kapwa.

Isa sa pinakamakikilalang tradisyon sa araw na ito ay ang paglalagay ng abo sa noo. Sa misa o serbisyong panrelihiyon, naglalagay ang pari o ministro ng abo karaniwang mula sa sinunog na palaspas ng nakaraang taon sa hugis ng krus.

Kasabay nito, madalas sabihin ang mga katagang “Alalahanin mong ikaw ay alabok, at sa alabok ka muling babalik.” Ito’y nagbibigay-diin sa pagkakaroon ng kababaang-loob, pagninilay sa sariling buhay, at pagnanais na magbago.
