The West District Meet officially opened at West 1 Elementary School, this Wednesday, August 12, bringing together young athletes from different schools to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. Various sports events were held as part of the district-wide competition.
Representing SES in table tennis, Lyra Cruz, Grade Six, secured 3rd place in the Girls’ Table Tennis event and earned a spot as a qualifier for the Division Meet. Meanwhile, Jayber Caalaman, Grade Six, proudly competed in the Boys’ Table Tennis event. Both athletes were coached by Ma’am Josely Banuelos, whose guidance and support helped prepare the players for the competition.
Salinas Elementary School congratulates Lyra and Jayber for representing the school with determination and sportsmanship. Congratulations, and best of luck to Lyra in the upcoming Division Meet!

As part of its commitment to instill discipline, patriotism, and good values among learners, the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) of Salinas Elementary School continues to recognize the Most Disciplined Grade Levels during the weekly flag ceremony through Project SALUDO – Salute to the Flag.
Implemented under the guidance of Ma'am Juris Capistrano, Project SALUDO is one of the initiatives under Project 4-MAN (Makadiyos, Makatao, Makakalikasan, at Makabansa).
Awardees are selected based on their proper flag ceremony etiquette, respectful behavior, and mastery in singing the patriotic and regional hymns.

Welcomed by Salinas Elementary School on July 28, 2026, a distinguished monitoring team composed of Sir Joey Jader, Education Program Supervisor (EPS) for MAPEH; Mr. Hernando C. Cortez, EPS for TLE; Dr. Rowela M. Caperiña, EPS for SPED and Kindergarten; PSDS Ma’am Maricon N. Tenido and Dr. Sorina P. Gloria conducted a comprehensive visitation with the learners’ Second Summative Test. The day unfolded with a blend of academic assessment and professional development, underscoring the school’s commitment to quality education.
While the students were focused on their examinations, Dr. Gloria and Ma’am Tenido provided technical assistance to teachers who were free from testing duties, guiding them in refining their Action Plans. At one point, the supervisors sat down with Principal Ma’am Cynthia R. Gimenez to carefully review the school programs and the ongoing summative test, checking the alignment of action plans with the school’s goals and ensuring that monitoring feedback was directly connected to instructional improvement.
In addition, Sir Cortez, together with Ma’am Tenido and Dr. Gloria, congratulated the school for its initiative of practicing learners in proper shading of answer sheets—an effort designed to prepare them for the upcoming national examinations. This practice not only familiarizes students with test-taking mechanics but also strengthens accuracy and confidence. At the end of each answer sheet, a parent’s signature and feedback section has been included, allowing families to monitor their child’s progress and be informed about scores and learning status, further reinforcing the school’s commitment to home-school collaboration.
Meanwhile, Principal Gimenez proudly toured the monitoring team around the school premises, showcasing Salinas Elementary School’s thriving agricultural initiatives. The school has integrated farming and agri-fishery projects into its curriculum, with Grade 4 learners cultivating eggplants and peanuts, Grade 5 learners managing projects with rubrics for evaluation, and Grade 6 learners raising tilapia in an improvised aquarium as part of their Agri-fishery lessons. These projects highlight the school’s dedication to hands-on, sustainable education that connects classroom learning with real-world practices.
The supervisors also extended subject-specific support: Sir Cortez worked closely with EPP and TLE teachers, emphasizing best practices in experiential learning, while Sir Jader guided MAPEH teachers in organizing a structured sports club action plan to strengthen extracurricular programs.
Dr. Caperiña focused her monitoring on the Kindergarten program, ensuring that early childhood education standards were upheld. The visitation underscored the collaborative spirit between supervisors and teachers, highlighting Salinas Elementary School’s dual strength in academic excellence and community-based innovation.
