Toolkit Distribution for SMAW NC I and NC II Graduates under TESDA Scholarship Program

UniTech Educational Institute (UEI) Inc., as the Technical Vocational Institution (TVI) provider, successfully conducted a toolkit distribution for its 151 graduates of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I and NC II programs. The toolkits were part of the scholars’ benefits under the scholarship grant provided by TESDA, aimed at supporting graduates as they transition into employment or livelihood opportunities.

Each graduate received a 2-in-1 Portable 250 MMA/TIG Welding Machine, an essential piece of equipment that will enable them to apply their skills in actual welding work and enhance their productivity in the field.

The activity was attended by UniTech officials and staff, led by School President Sir Roman L. Banlasan and School Administrator Ma’am Aisa R. Seño. Also present were Assessment Center Manager Ma’am Pearl Clavo, administrative staff Ma’am Ronalyn Alcantara and Ma’am Abigael S. Padilla, and SMAW Trainer Sir Cedrick P. Banlasan. Representing TESDA, Ms. Ronalyn Baldon witnessed the event and expressed support for the graduates.

This initiative highlights the strong partnership between TESDA and UniTech Educational Institute (UEI) Inc. in delivering quality technical-vocational education. By providing toolkits as part of the scholarship benefits, the program ensures that graduates are not only trained but also equipped with the necessary tools to pursue employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood in the welding industry.

🏆UniTech Shines at the WorldSkills Competition – Quezon 2026!🏆

The WorldSkills Competition – Quezon was successfully held last March 4–6, 2026, bringing together talented competitors from across the province to demonstrate excellence in technical and vocational skills.

The Opening Program was held at Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS), Brgy. Silangang Mayao Malicboy, Pagbilao, Quezon. The event began with the Welcome Remarks from Engr. Cerifino R. Tolentino Jr., Vocational School Supervisor of QNAS, followed by the Opening Remarks from Mr. Benito G. Reyes, Provincial Director of TESDA Quezon.

Inspirational messages were delivered by distinguished guests:

• Representative of Hon. Angelina “Doktora Helen” D. L. Tan, Provincial Governor
• Hon. Angelica Portes-Tatlonghari, Municipal Mayor of Pagbilao
• Engr. Jovencio M. Ferrer Jr., CESO III, Regional Director of TESDA CALABARZON

We are also proud to share that our School Administrator and Co-Owner of UniTech Educational Institute, Ms. Aisa R. Seño, led the Oath of Experts, which was then followed by the Raising of the Competition Flag and the Declaration of the Opening of the Competition.

🔧 UniTech Educational Institute participated in the Welding Skills Area, proudly represented by Joel A. Puntal, an 18-year-old competitor from Iyam, Lucena City, under the mentorship and coaching of Ms. Aisa R. Seño, with the guidance and full support of our School President, Sir Roman L. Banlasan.

The welding competition required to complete projects using various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. These projects involved plates, pipes, and pressure vessels, utilizing different welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW, highlighting both precision and technical expertise.

The Closing Program was held at Sto. Cristo De Burgos, Sariaya, Quezon, where we proudly celebrate an outstanding achievement:

🥇 UniTech Educational Institute bagged the GOLD MEDAL in the Welding Skills Area!

With this victory, our champion will represent the province in the Regional WorldSkills Competition on May 18–20, 2026.
