Lucena Diocesan Educational System - Ludes

The PEAC strongly urges the immediate approval of the Basic Education Voucher Program Act that will be critical in strengthening access to quality education and ensuring the continuity of government assistance for millions of Filipino learners, most especially the expansion of the subsidy program to include K-6 learners.

The PEAC has consistently supported the proposed legislation and emphasized the importance of sustaining policy direction, preserving implementation continuity, and ensuring institutional stability that will contribute to the long-term success of the program.

“United in Faith and Excellence: Strengthening Readiness, Collaboration, and Quality Catholic Education through Strategic Planning and Accreditation"

Guided by faith and united in mission, the 13 schools of the Lucena Diocesan Educational System (LUDES) came together for a two-day seminar on April 30–May 1, 2026 at Maryhill College—a meaningful encounter of readiness, planning, and collaboration as we prepare for the opening of a new school year.

Led by the LUDES Schools Superintendent, and with the valuable insights of Ms. Simonet Barrosa, School Administrators, Faculty, and Educational Support Personnel deepened their understanding of the Continuity Recovery Integrity Plan (CRIP) and the New School Calendar. More than a seminar, it became a shared journey of strengthening systems, aligning goals, and building a culture of excellence anchored in our Catholic identity.

This initiative highlights our commitment not only to readiness and strategic planning, but also to continuous improvement in line with accreditation and certification standards—ensuring that every learner receives quality, holistic, and Christ-centered education.

In the spirit of synodality, we move forward together—collaborating, innovating, and responding to the call of our mission with integrity and dedication. As one Catholic school system, we remain steadfast in forming communities of faith, knowledge, and service.

With great joy and gratitude to Almighty God, the Diocese of Lucena wishes to share the blessed news that today, October 4, 2025, at 12:00 noon (Rome time), on the liturgical memorial of Saint Francis of Assisi, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV has officially announced the appointment of Rev. Fr. Edwin O. Panergo, currently the Rector of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Seminary, as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Boac.

Rev. Fr. Edwin O. Panergo has served the Church with humility and pastoral zeal. His appointment recognizes his steadfast commitment to Christ’s mission and his love for the People of God. We offer our prayers and support as he prepares to shepherd the Diocese of Boac.

As we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Diocese of Lucena, which we joyfully marked last September 8, we recognize this episcopal appointment as a special blessing and grace from the Lord. In this season of thanksgiving, we express our deep gratitude for the many ways God continues to guide and bless our local Church. Truly, in our journey of 75 years, the Lord never ceases to show His goodness.

Let us together entrust Bishop-Elect Fr. Edwin O. Panergo to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the intercession of Saint Francis of Assisi, that he may faithfully lead the flock entrusted to him in the Diocese of Boac.
