𝗦𝗟𝗦𝗨 - 𝗧𝗖𝗟 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗟𝗦𝗨 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀

The Tissue Culture Laboratory (TCL) team proudly secured 3rd Place at the 5th SLSU Research Congress under the category of Agriculture, Environment, Engineering and Applied Technology with their poster: “𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝘆𝗼-𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗼 (𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙨 𝙣𝙪𝙘𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙇.) 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮.”

This research highlights the optimization of sterilization techniques and culture media for macapuno embryo culture, an essential step toward producing high-quality macapuno planting materials. The study reinforces SLSU’s commitment to advancing agricultural biotechnology and promoting sustainable crop propagation through scientific innovation.

The recognition stands as a statement to the laboratory’s dedication to excellence in research and its continuing contribution to agricultural development in Quezon Province and beyond.

Opisyal nang lumagda sa 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙢 𝙤𝙛 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 (𝙈𝙊𝙐) ang SLSU at Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Quezon sa Provincial Capitol upang palakasin ang 𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 ng mga pananim, partikular ang produksyon ng Raniag Variety na patatas. Layunin ng kasunduan na makapag‑produce ng 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚‑𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙨 para sa mas produktibong agrikultura sa lalawigan.

Ang kasunduan ay pinirmahan nina Dr. Frederick T. Villa, DTech, Pangulo ng SLSU, at Hon. Angelina “Doktora Helen” D.L. Tan, MD, MBAH, Gobernador ng Quezon. Saksi sa pagpirma sina Dr. Marissa C. Esperal, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, and Development; Dr. Nicanor L. Guinto, Director ng Office of Research Services; Dott. Wilfredo B. Barrera, Jr., Head ng Tissue Culture Laboratory; Ana Clarissa S. Mariano, Provincial Agriculturist; Ma. Leonellie G. Dimalaluan at Alexander C. Garcia, Assistant Provincial Agriculturist.

Sa ilalim ng MOU, ang SLSU ay mangunguna sa akademikong aspeto at pagsasanay, habang ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ay magbibigay ng teknikal na tulong at suporta sa pagpapatupad ng proyekto. Ang parehong panig ay magtutulungan sa pagpapalawak ng kaalaman, pagsasanay ng mga kawani, at pagpapatibay ng ugnayan sa pagitan ng akademya at pamahalaan—isang hakbang tungo sa sustainable agricultural development at mas matatag na seguridad sa pagkain sa Quezon.
