PONSECA SHINES WITH DOUBLE-PODIUM FINISH IN PALARONG QUEZON 2025 ATHLETICS
Lucena City — Team Lucban’s athletics standout Joberto Ponseca delivered an exceptional performance in the Palarong Quezon 2025, securing two podium finishes during the highly competitive SNED Athletics events held at Quezon National High School.
On November 26, Ponseca powered through the track in the 200-meter run, claiming the bronze medal in a stacked field dominated by Atimonan, which swept both the gold and silver positions. Ponseca’s impressive sprint placed him ahead of contenders from Candelaria and Tiaong, marking a strong start to his athletic campaign.
The following day, November 27, Ponseca returned to the track as part of Lucban’s 4x100-meter relay team, where he and his teammates Jerico Ansay Martinez, Johnrei Gucon, John Vincent Ulleras delivered a stunning performance that earned them the silver medal. The relay saw a fierce battle among top municipalities, with Atimonan clinching gold and Tiaong securing bronze.
Guided by Coach Josie Gipanao and Assistant Coach Clarissa Terando, Ponseca’s consistent podium finishes showcased not only his speed and determination but also Lucban’s strengthening presence in athletics at the provincial level.
As Palarong Quezon 2025 continues to highlight the athletic excellence of young Quezonians, Ponseca’s double-medal achievement stands as a proud moment for Lucban and an inspiration to aspiring athletes in the district.

Nagsinamo National High School Shines in Multiple Events at Palarong Quezon 2025
Athletes from Nagsinamo National High School, representing the proud Municipality of Lucban, stepped into the arenas of Palarong Quezon 2025 carrying heart, determination, and the unwavering support of their community. Though the journey did not always end in victory, their performances became moments of pride—proof that true success is measured not only by medals, but by courage, effort, and resilience.
In Taekwondo Kyurogi/Sparring, Grade 9 athletes Jamyla Irish H. Mendoza and Kathryn M. Acleta fought with admirable spirit. Mendoza, competing in Category 3, showcased sharp technique and composure, while Acleta, in Category 4, stepped confidently into her matches despite tough odds. Both faced strong opponents, yet they held their ground—walking away not defeated, but strengthened, earning praise for their bravery and discipline.
At the billiards tables, Kylie Nicalette C. Laguerta (Grade 10–Love) and Ralph Dave N. Racoma (Grade 12–Perseverance) demonstrated poise under pressure in the 9-ball and 8-ball events. They delivered smart plays, calculated shots, and moments of brilliance that left lasting impressions. While they fell short of podium finishes, their efforts reflected maturity, sportsmanship, and quiet determination—qualities that make champions beyond the scoreboard.
On the track and field, the athletic team of Nagsinamo NHS poured out everything they had. Ayesha Asiao (Grade 9–Charity) pushed through fatigue to complete her races in the 800m and 400m, finishing with pride and steady resolve. Charice Abuel (Grade 10–Love) battled the grueling 3,000m run, proving her endurance and heart even as the race tested her limits. In the field events, Reian Kate Mirasol (Grade 8–Courage) took on shot put, giving her best throw with confidence, while Andrei Cardel (Grade 10–Love) showed grit as he competed in both shot put and javelin, earning the respect of spectators and fellow athletes.
Though the competition brought challenges and close matches, the students of Nagsinamo National High School did not return home empty-handed. They returned with experience, self-growth, pride, and the honor of representing Lucban on the provincial stage. Their Palarong Quezon 2025 journey stands as a reminder that even without medals, the courage to compete and the willingness to fight on is already a victory worth celebrating.

ESCALANTE, GARCIA DELIVER BRONZE MEDALS FOR LUCBAN IN PALARONG QUEZON 2025 TAEKWONDO

Candelaria, Quezon — Lucban’s Taekwondo delegation from Nagsinamo National High School made a strong mark in the Palarong Quezon 2025 after two of its athletes clinched bronze medals during the Kyurogi (Sparring) events held on November 27 at The Lady Mediatrix Institute Inc.

In a display of grit and discipline, Eduard Christoff A. Escalante secured a bronze medal in Category 5, delivering a determined performance in his matchup against the formidable contender from Lopez. His strategic kicks, defensive timing, and unwavering composure earned him a well-deserved place on the podium.

Adding to Lucban’s medal tally, Keneth E. Garcia also captured a bronze medal in Category 2 after a competitive bout against Candelaria. Garcia’s agility and aggressive scoring attempts kept the match intense, reflecting his skill and determination throughout the fight.
The achievements of Escalante and Garcia highlight the growing strength of Lucban’s Taekwondo program, guided by Coach Flor E. Nanez and Trainer Nikkisha Bryce A. Barranda, whose mentorship played a vital role in preparing the athletes for high-level competition.
With these podium finishes, Nagsinamo National High School proudly elevates the municipality of Lucban in the provincial arena, inspiring young martial artists to step onto the mat with confidence and dedication.

LUCBAN STRIKES BACK, SEIZES 3rd PLACE IN PALARONG QUEZON 2025 FOOTBALL BOYS SECONDARY
November 28, 2025 – Tiaong, Quezon

The football team of Lucban proudly clinched 3rd Place in the Palarong Quezon 2025, ending their tournament run with a powerful statement of resilience, teamwork, and athletic excellence. Their podium finish was sealed after a commanding 5–1 victory over Quezon in the battle for 3rd Place, held at Lusacan Elementary School in Tiaong. Lucban’s offense exploded early in the match, backed by a disciplined defense that allowed them to dominate from start to finish.

Lucban’s journey toward a medal position began in the elimination round at Quezon National High School in Lucena City. They opened strong with a 3–1 win against Pagbilao, stumbled in a close 1–2 loss to Quezon, but quickly regained momentum with another 3–1 triumph over Gumaca. These performances earned them a place in the quarterfinals, but just as the competition intensified, the tournament venue had to be changed. The field in Quezon National High School was declared unplayable due to the presence of stones, prompting organizers to move all knockout matches to Lusacan Elementary School in Tiaong to ensure safety and fair play.

At the new venue, Lucban showcased their renewed energy in the quarterfinals with a decisive 3–1 win against Polilio, sending them into the semifinals with confidence. However, their bid for finals was halted by Atimonan in a tight 1–0 match. Despite the setback, the Lucban squad regrouped with determination, channeling their focus into the bronze-medal battle where they delivered an emphatic 5–1 victory to secure 3rd place.
Behind the success of the team were Coach Remark Z. Salvanera and Trainer Darwin A. Mendoza, whose leadership, discipline, and strategic guidance shaped Lucban’s strong performance throughout the tournament.

November 25, 2025 – Tiaong, Quezon

The Municipality of Lucban proudly celebrates another sporting triumph as the Football Girls Secondary Team of Nagsinamo National High School emerged Champion in the Palarong Quezon 2025, held at Lusacan Elementary School in Tiaong, Quezon. With skill, strategy, and unwavering teamwork, the Lucban squad dominated the championship match with a commanding 3–0 victory over Gumaca, securing the coveted title.

The road to the championship began with Lucban’s first match against Sariaya, which ended in a draw. Despite the tight contest, the team displayed strong defensive coordination and persistent attacks that set the tone for their final performance. Advancing to the championship round, Lucban entered the pitch with determination and executed their plays with precision, ultimately overpowering Gumaca through controlled ball possession, quick transitions, and well-timed goal opportunities.

With three teams competing in this year’s Football Girls Secondary division, every match carried significant weight. Lucban rose to the challenge, proving their dominance through discipline and consistency that outshined their opponents.

Behind the success of the team were the guiding hands of Coach Maria Theresa C. Palacio and Assistant Coach/Trainer Arvin Dagwayan, whose dedication and leadership played a key role in molding the athletes into champions. Supporting the group throughout the event was Chaperone Mary Lou Brillon, ensuring the team’s readiness and welfare.
