𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The UPLB Department of Accounting formally welcomed the newest members of the BS Accountancy program at the REDREC Auditorium last August 13, 2026.

The program opened with an inspiring welcome message from CEM Dean Dr. Maria Angeles O. Catelo, who set a tone of collaboration, discipline, and expectations for the years beyond. Academic policies were introduced by College Secretary Asst. Prof. Rowena A. Dorado. The afternoon gave our first years a meaningful opportunity to meet the faculty and staff of the department as well as a clear overview of the program curriculum and retention standards.

The higher year students then shared candid lessons from their experiences in the program, thus far, while students who have completed their internships offered the freshmen an early glimpse of professional practice. In a moving inspirational talk, Atty. Menard N. Putungan, the department’s senior lecturer and proprietor of a CPA-Law firm, reminded them that while the road to becoming a Certified Public Accountant is demanding, resilience, integrity, and passion make all the difference.

The program also honored students from the first two batches, 2024 and 2025, who earned the highest general weighted averages in their BA and MGT courses. Congratulations to our awardees. May your example inspire the batches that follow. 👏

Department Chair Juan Paulino S. Trespalacio, Junior closed the program with three guiding principles: 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐣𝐨𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲.
