𝗗𝗧𝗥𝗜 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝟮 𝗨𝗣𝗟𝗕 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

DTRI proudly welcomes 12 student interns from UPLB's Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST), Institute of Animal Science (IAS), and Institute of Chemistry for the Midyear Internship Program 2026.

From June 8 to July 14, 2026, the interns will gain hands-on experience in various DTRI technical and research areas. An orientation program was held to introduce them to their internship tracks and mentors.

We are excited to be part of their learning journey and wish them a meaningful and productive internship experience.

𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗗𝗧𝗥𝗜 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! 🐮

We proudly celebrate the completion of internship training of 5 BS Agriculture students majoring in Animal Science from Cavite State University – Main Campus.

From April 21 to June 3, they immersed themselves in Dairy Production, Health & Pasture Management; Animal Nutrition & Forage; Breeding & Physiology; and Dairy Processing.

More than the technical skills, they described their DTRI journey as meaningful, family-like, memorable, and unforgettable.

Congratulations, interns! Your DTRI journey may have ended, but your learning continues.

Women dairy farmers took the spotlight during the celebration of World Milk Day 2026 at the SEARCA Auditorium, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), on June 2. With the theme “𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠,” the event brought together women dairy farmers, industry leaders, government officials, researchers, and development partners to recognize the vital role of women in strengthening the Philippine dairy industry.

Hosted by Alaska Milk Corporation and FrieslandCampina in partnership with the UPLB Dairy Training and Research Institute (DTRI), the celebration featured inspiring talks, a Panel Discussion, and a Dairy Fair showcasing locally produced dairy products.

During the panel discussion, women dairy farmers shared their experiences and insights on entrepreneurship, continuous learning, and the importance of support from government and industry partners in building sustainable dairy enterprises.

Speakers highlighted how empowering women farmers contributes to stronger communities, more resilient food systems, and a growing dairy sector.

The event concluded with a symbolic Milk Toast in honor of the women whose dedication, resilience, and leadership continue to shape the future of dairy farming in the Philippines.

DTRI Researchers participated in the workshop entitled Winning R&D Proposal Writing Workshop and Alignment with SCS. It was held last June 02, 2026 (Tuesday) at the DTRI Conference Room.

We thank our speakers Dr. Sheba Mae Duque and Dr. Joel Rivadeneira for sharing their knowledge and expertise in Research Proposal Writing and for their encouragement to aspire admission to the Scientific Career System.

The Dairy Training and Research Institute (DTRI) welcomed 12 Nuffield Scholars of Australia last May 12, 2026, Tuesday.

Their visit included a technical exchange and open forum regarding DTRI’s Dairy Practices and Research. This was followed by a walk through at the dairy processing plant, demonstration at the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Project site, and a drive through at the Forage Gene Bank.
