The DOST-NRCP-funded project, “Securing the Future of Philippine Inland Waters: An Integrated Impact Assessment of NRCP Research Initiatives in Lake Danao and Lake Lanao,” is looking for a Project Technical Assistant I to join the team!

Position: Project Technical Assistant I
Contract: 3 years, renewable every 3 months
Duration: October 1, 2026 - September 30, 2029
Salary: ₱32,300/month (SG-10)

Qualifications:
We are looking for applicants with:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Fisheries, Forestry, Human Ecology, Development Communication, or related fields
• Preferably with experience in research, impact assessment, freshwater ecosystems, or related projects
• Knowledge of basic research methods, field data collection, and administrative work
• Strong written and communication skills
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to meet project standards and deadlines
• Willingness to travel to project sites

Scope of Work:
The successful applicant will assist in fieldwork, surveys, sampling, data collection, research data management, stakeholder coordination, administrative requirements, report preparation, and other project activities.

We are proud to announce that the DCERP Research Labs have been formally institutionalized as part of the University of the Philippines Collective Mentorship Program (CMP) during the 1,411th Meeting of the UP Board of Regents (BOR) held on 26 August 2026.

This significant milestone strengthens DCERP’s commitment to advancing collaborative research, mentorship, and knowledge generation in environmental & development planning through its four Research Labs:

♻️FROM WASTE TO WORTH, FROM LINEAR TO CIRCULAR!🌍

The Department of Community and Environmental Resource Planning (DCERP) successfully held PRAXIS 32: Sustainable Cities & Communities – From Linear to Circular: Shaping a Sustainable Future on 18 August 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN, via Zoom, bringing together 331 participants for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and ideas. This session was made possible through the partnership with the UP Professional School for Agriculture and Environment (UP-PSAE) and the DOST Balik-Scientist Program.

The online learning session brought together experts and participants in insightful discussions on plastic waste, circular economy, resource management, recycling, and emerging technologies that can contribute to more sustainable communities and a greener future.

Through these insightful exchanges, PRAXIS 32 highlighted the importance of rethinking how we produce, consume, manage resources, and address waste. Moving toward a circular future requires not only innovative technologies and effective policies but also cooperation and collective action across communities and sectors.
