Sa nakaraang taon, umabot sa 19.68 milyong metriko tonelada ang produksyon ng palay mula sa 4.75 milyong ektarya ng lupang sakahan sa bansa.

Subalit, sa bawat cropping season:

💸 ₱47,538 / ektarya ang ginagastos ng ating mga magsasaka

📉 ₱10,853 lamang ang kanilang kinikita.

Ang hamong ito ay mas pinabibigat pa ng pagsalanta ng iba’t ibang sakit. 🦠

Kilalanin natin ang ilan sa mga sakit na nakakaapekto sa produksyon ng palay. Sapagkat magkakaiba man ang kanilang sanhi, sintomas, at paraan ng pagkalat, maaari silang humantong sa iisang suliranin: ang pagbaba ng ani, na maaaring magdulot ng malaking pagkalugi ng ating mga magsasaka.
