🌐 Globally Convergent: A Webinar Series on International Perspectives in Mathematical Sciences
On May 11, 2026, the Institute of Mathematical Sciences successfully held the final session of the Globally Convergent webinar series for the semester, attended by around 40 students, faculty, and researchers from different institutions in the Philippines and abroad.
The session featured Dr. Punya Alahakoon, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Pandemic Sciences Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, who delivered a talk titled “Enhancing Epidemiological Parameter Inference Using Quantitative Diagnostic Data.” She discussed a framework for incorporating quantitative diagnostic measurements, particularly Ct values, into epidemiological models to better capture population-level disease dynamics.
Thank you to everyone who joined the three webinar sessions. We look forward to welcoming you again in future Globally Convergent sessions in the coming semesters.
