The Applied Spectroscopy Research Laboratory (ASRL) hosted a research presentation session during its regular research meeting on September 4, 2026, at the Institute of Physics (IoP). The session was initiated by IoP Applied Physics alumni and provided an opportunity to share their current research and engage in discussions with faculty, researchers, and students.
The session featured four presentations covering diverse areas of physics and its applications. Vincent Gene Otero, an Applied Physics alumnus and MS Physics graduate of National Taiwan Normal University, presented a study on the search for terrestrial relic neutrinos using a Mach–Zehnder interferometer. Keana Rylie Pasoquen, also an Applied Physics alumna and MS Physics graduate of National Taiwan Normal University, discussed the Breit–Wigner–Fano Raman characteristics of semi-metallic 1T-Ti₁.₀₃S₂.
Rovie De Ramos, a Science Research Specialist at DOST-PAGASA, presented a comparative assessment of dynamic bathtub and hydrodynamic simulations for predicting storm surge–driven coastal inundation. Meanwhile, Clarence Feliciano, an MS Medical Physics student at UP Manila, presented work on electron and photon specific absorbed fractions and radionuclide S-values for adult Filipino mesh-type reference computational phantoms.
