State of the Learner Government Address (SOLGA) Delivered by SSLG President Altiera Mine M. Guerrero
Guites National High School successfully conducted its Student General Assembly, July 21, 2025, bringing together students, teachers, and school officials in a gathering focused on celebrating past accomplishments and setting the direction for future student-led initiatives. One of the most anticipated highlights of the assembly was the State of the Learner Government Address (SOLGA), powerfully delivered by SSLG President Altiera Mine M. Guerrero, who shared the collective achievements of the learner government and inspired her fellow students with a message of leadership, service, and unity.
In her address, Guerrero gave a sincere and comprehensive report on the accomplishments of the SSLG and its allied organizations. She recalled the 25th Foundation Anniversary of Guites NHS as a moment that united the entire school community in celebration of its legacy. She also emphasized the Coastal Clean-Up Drive in Brgy. Guites, and the Youth Camp Leadership Training, which honed the character and leadership skills of student-participants.
Her message also touched on environmental advocacy through tree planting activities, and the unifying spirit behind the launch of the official organization T-shirt, symbolizing pride and shared identity among learners.
The most heartfelt portion of her speech came when she spoke about the Banyuhay Youth Camp, describing it as an unforgettable journey filled with growth, learning, and renewed purpose. "Napuno ito ng mga gawain na humubog sa ating pagkatao, nagturo sa atin ng disiplina, pakikipagkapwa, at higit sa lahat — ng pag-asa," Guerrero shared, acknowledging the personal and collective transformations that took place during the camp.
Looking ahead, she proposed a creative project titled “Basurahan Basketball Plastic”, aimed at promoting proper waste disposal in a fun and engaging way. By integrating gameplay with environmental consciousness, the initiative hopes to instill discipline and responsibility among students in a more interactive manner.
Guerrero also expressed gratitude to the student leaders who worked alongside her throughout the year:

She gave special thanks to their ever-supportive teachers, to SSLG Adviser Sir Jemark S. Villaos, and to their School Head Ma’am Jenette M. Pañoso, whose presence and encouragement made each milestone possible.
In a particularly poignant moment, Guerrero shared:
"Ang tunay na lider ay 'yung handang tumulong, makinig, at kumilos para sa ikabubuti ng lahat. Minsan tahimik lang, pero palaging may malasakit. Minsan pagod, pero hindi sumusuko."
She reminded everyone that not all efforts are seen, but every act of service—no matter how simple—contributes to the greater good:
"Kahit hindi laging nakikita o napapansin ang effort natin, alam natin sa sarili natin na may naitulong tayo — at 'yun ang mahalaga."
Whether it’s planting a tree, picking up litter, bringing joy to a fellow student, or organizing a successful event—each moment is a shared victory for the Guitesian community.
President Guerrero closed her speech with a powerful message of unity and service, calling on everyone to continue working together for a brighter future:
“Tayo ang tinig, tayo ang kilos, tayo ang pagbabago.”
Indeed, the spirit of student leadership at Guites National High School remains strong, rooted in compassion, action, and purpose.
