In support of Division Memorandum No. 0506, s. 2026 on the observance of No Smoking Month and the strengthening of Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Schools, Cogorin Ilaya Elementary School successfully conducted its No Smoking Month Orientation and Anti-Bullying Campaign for School Year 2026β2027, participated in by learners from Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6.
The program formally opened with an inspiring message from Head Teacher I, Maβam Lorena Veran, who emphasized the importance of promoting a safe, healthy, and nurturing school environment where learners are protected from bullying, smoking, va**ng, and other harmful behaviors.
The activity was spearheaded by the Technical Working Group (TWG) through Administrative Support Staff, Maβam Ma. Shiela Hopello, ensuring the successful implementation of the orientation.
The learning sessions were facilitated by:
* Sir Herbert Olanda, Teacher V, who discussed the Anti-Bullying Campaign, reminding learners to practice kindness, respect, empathy, and courage in reporting and preventing bullying.
* Sir Rodelo P. Alano,Teacher II,who discussed the significance of No Smoking Month, highlighting the harmful effects of to***co and va**ng and encouraging learners to become advocates of a smoke-free and vape-free school and community.
Through this activity, Cogorin Ilaya Elementary School reaffirms its commitment to the Department of Educationβs advocacy of fostering a bully-free, smoke-free, vape-free, and learner-friendly school environment, where every child can learn safely, confidently, and healthily.
