SHA Diamond Jubilee - Memoirs
HIUSADYA 5-DEKADA

(This video is presented by SHA Batch '75 as a heartfelt tribute to the institution that has shaped and instilled the values that have guided us into who we are today. There is no better way to express our deepest gratitude than by commemorating the journey of shining so brightly over the years across the community.)

Three score and fifteen years ago, in 2022, Sacred Heart Academy was all the time shining brightly—a beacon of education and community. Despite the untoward incident on October 15, 2013, at around 8:12 AM PST, when a 7.2 magnitude earthquake caused significant damage, the spirit of the institution remained unbroken. A new building was erected a distance away, continuing to shine with the same brightness and dedication. With all alumni joining hands, the institution remains a beacon of light and guidance for the youth to behold.

Through the years, the journey continued. When Sacred Heart Academy celebrated its Diamond Jubilee, it brought together alumni from all walks of life to celebrate and rekindle memories of togetherness. It was a moment of joy and laughter, reigniting those years of youthful innocence. Seeing bygone friends appear before your eyes was like stepping into a time capsule, where every conversation echoed with shared history. The air was thick with nostalgia as we reminisced about our mischievous escapades and the bonds we forged over the years. The joy of hugging old friends and recalling friendships of past eras was overwhelming. Amidst the festivities, there was a profound sense of pride and gratitude for the institution that shaped us. It was a day where past and present seamlessly intertwined, leaving us with hearts full of warmth and a renewed sense of belonging.

The celebration was not just about looking back, but also about looking forward. The alumni shared their successes and stories of how Sacred Heart Academy had influenced their lives, creating a tapestry of achievements that spanned decades. The event was filled with speeches, performances, and a grand feast that symbolized the unity and enduring spirit of the academy. As the day turned into night, the campus was illuminated not just by lights, but by the collective glow of shared memories and renewed connections. The Diamond Jubilee was a testament to the resilience and enduring legacy of Sacred Heart Academy—a place where the past, present, and future come together in a harmonious blend of tradition and progress.

SHA Batch '75: 47th Re-union - Memoirs
HIUSADYA 5-DEKADA

The plan for our reunion was supposed to take place earlier, but the worst catastrophe happened, and it became our 47th-anniversary celebration. For a long time, due to the debacle caused by the pandemic, we were left without a specific date for our reunion, as there was no time frame for when it would end. When the smoke cleared, we finally found a moment of hope and decided to gather once more. Setting our reunion for September 4-5, 2022, in our home province was a joy beyond expectation.

Our 47th anniversary was truly a momentous event, as it coincided with our Alma Mater's Diamond Jubilee year. By a twist of fate, the pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise, allowing our celebration to become part of the school's grand festivities. Moments like these, though seemingly insignificant, can be understated achievements. However, being part of such a huge celebration is a humble triumph and a modest milestone for Batch '75. It was a testament to our resilience and unity, showcasing how we turned challenges into opportunities for joy and togetherness.

Most were anticipating the event with great enthusiasm, as many of us had not seen each other for years. Reminiscing about the bittersweet memories of the yesteryears was on everyone’s mind, but others had already indicated that they would not be able to attend. Various commitments and personal circumstances prevented some of our dear friends from joining. However, despite those unable to attend, they signified their support in whatever way they could to make the affair a success. Their kindness and support helped ensure that the celebration would be memorable, and our heartfelt thanks go out to all of them. We truly cherished our gathering, withstood the test of time, and reaffirmed our commitment to meet again in the near future.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making our reunion possible, whether in person or in spirit. Their kindness and support helped ensure that our celebration was memorable, fostering a sense of unity despite the challenges we faced. As we gathered together in Bohol, we cherished the bonds that have withstood the test of time and reaffirmed our commitment to each other as we looked forward to many more years of friendship and shared memories.

This 50th-anniversary celebration of SHA Batch 1975 is humbly shared with all alumni who, in one way or another, have also experienced what we have gone through. We sincerely hope that our journey provides you with valuable insights to achieve the best in yourselves. This milestone is not just a reflection of our past but a beacon for future generations, inspiring them to turn challenges into triumphs. Together, we celebrate our shared history and look forward to the many achievements yet to come.

SHA Batch '75: Our Journey Through Snapshots - Memoirs
HIUSADYA 5-DEKADA

Stepping out of our cherished Alma Mater fifty years ago, this year, we were unaware that it was the beginning of our journey into history. From the humble beginnings of the delicate charm and gentle innocence of our youth to the tumultuous external world, our lives have endured many challenges. The institution that shaped and molded us instilled in us the resilience to withstand any adversities that nature and mankind alike could bestow. Like bamboo, we are pliant yet firm, enduring hardships and struggles without minding the rough roads along the way to our golden anniversary.

This year, we proudly celebrate our 50th anniversary by sharing snapshots that freeze those precious moments in time when Batch '75 made a significant impact with the lessons we learned from our Alma Mater. These glimpses may be brief, but they tell countless stories of the years we spent together. As our President, Ma. Velma Prosianos-Borja, emphasized, let us be a beacon of influence for the youth to see. We have much to offer for them to emulate, and as they watch over time, we hope to provide the guidance they need to excel in their fields of endeavor.

Our journey has been one of resilience and growth, marked by the unwavering support of our Alma Mater. As we look back on the past five decades, we are filled with gratitude for the experiences that have shaped us and the bonds that have strengthened us. Let us continue to inspire future generations, showing them that with determination and perseverance, they, too, can overcome any obstacles and achieve greatness. Here's to the next chapter of our journey, filled with hope, pride, and the enduring spirit of Batch '75.

We would like to express our profound gratitude to our Superior, the late Mo. Consuelo Peñeda, RVM, and our Class Adviser, the late Francisca C. Prosianos. Their unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in our journey. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all our dedicated teachers: Lino Marcojos, Vevenciola Estrada, Rufa Taylaran, Anita Plateros, Fatima Tanupan, Jeremias Mejorada, Zosima Ruano, Teresita Palban, Evangeline Pagaduan, Vicente Veloso, and Martiniana Lobregas, among others, who were always there to guide us. To our parents, guardians, friends, and all who have extended a helping hand in one way or another, each of them has played a significant role in shaping us into the individuals we are today. The happiness we experienced and the tears we shed during our failures are all part of our joyous journey.

As we sailed through time, we discovered that preserving memories was the best way to cherish these moments. The stills captured across the years are a testament to our days, offering glimpses into our past. The milestones we achieved and the stories we created bind us together, reminding us of the resilience and bonds we’ve formed. Each narrative is a thread in the rich fabric of our collective experience. Their commitment to our education and personal growth has left an indelible mark on our lives. From the lessons they imparted in the classroom to the values they instilled in us, their influence has been profound and lasting. We are deeply appreciative of their efforts, patience, and the countless hours they have dedicated to our development. We are forever grateful for their mentorship and the positive impact they have had on our lives. By sharing our stories, we hope to inspire those aspiring for excellence. Each narrative highlights our resilience and the bonds we’ve formed, honoring our past while inspiring one another to continue striving for success. Our journeys, both individual and shared, enrich our lives, reminding us that the path we walk together is what truly matters.

SHA Batch '75 Re-union Tour - Memoirs
HIUSADYA 5-DEKADA

As SHA Batch 1975 celebrates its 50th anniversary, we proudly share our life stories with you. We hope that our experiences and insights will guide you in your quest for a brighter future.

In our usual casual talks over the social platform, it was decided by then-member Ma. Velma Prosianos-Borja to reignite the reunions we had previously been holding. She assisted then-President Dioscora Rellita-Masas, who was very busy with her work. While this decision didn't mark the start of our reunions, it certainly added spice to our group's get-together plans. It laid the groundwork for our future activities, which materialized into a reunion tour held from March 14 to 17, 2019. This tour took us across Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte. It was an amazing experience as we reconnected, with fresh faces joining the outing. What made the trip even more enjoyable was that our friend, Framer Ofamen, a retired USA Navy officer, almost singlehandedly shouldered most of the trip's expenses. Everyone was invited, but not all were able to attend due to various reasons. One of us, Marciolina M. Tarli, despite the odds, came to celebrate with us, and we were all hearts with her presence. The timing of the event was particularly fortuitous, as the following year the country was declared under a pandemic. This made the gathering even more special in hindsight, as it became one of the last carefree moments before the world changed.

The excursion was truly amazing, and the chatting and recollecting of years gone by was super enjoyable. There was non-stop talking as we reminisced about the lost years when we were not able to communicate with each other. Another piece of good news to share was the very warm welcome we received in Valencia, Bukidnon, where we were feted with an extravagant dinner by our hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Deiparine (née Sherlita Marcojos). Sherlita "Maabs" Marcojos Deiparine is also a SHA alumna, and her brother was our classmate for four years. The dinner felt like a fiesta. We truly thanked her so much for the very unexpected and generous welcome.

We are thrilled to share our photos from our unforgettable trip to Mindanao. Our journey was filled with breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and heartwarming encounters. From the lush greenery of the mountains to every place we visited, each added a new chapter to our story. We laughed, we explored, and we created memories that will last a lifetime. Sharing these photos is not just about showcasing the beauty of Mindanao, but also about celebrating the love and companionship that have grown stronger over the years.

As we look back on our adventures, we are reminded of the joy and excitement that travel brings. It rekindles the spirit of adventure within us and strengthens our bond. Our golden anniversary is a milestone that we are proud of, and these photos are a testament to the wonderful journey we have shared together. Here's to many more years of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

The reunion tour was not just a trip but a journey of rekindling old friendships and creating new memories. It was a testament to the enduring bonds we share and the joy of reconnecting with each other. The laughter, the stories, and the shared experiences made it a memorable event that we will cherish for years to come. The tour also served as a reminder of the importance of staying connected and the value of our friendships. It was a celebration of our past, a reflection of our present, and a promise of more reunions and shared moments in the future.

SHA '75 Our High School Life - Memoirs
HIUSADYA 5-DEKADA

The tender innocence of our youth was blissfully unaware of the years to come, as the doors of our Alma Mater first opened to us. Our carefree days were filled with the pursuit of knowledge, embracing all that the institution had to offer. Little did we realize that, over the next fifty years, we would craft our own history. Our easygoing lives, unmindful of the future, were brimming with the bliss of everyday moments. It was a time when our untroubled existence allowed us to savor whatever came our way. We might say, "Make the best of what we cannot change". The memories of those days, sitting just an arm’s length away from someone who would become a lifelong friend, began to blossom. The unfazed, baby-faced freshmen were oblivious to the world around them, but our dedicated mentors were always there, constantly reminding us of the tasks we needed to accomplish.

Now, these moments are nothing but memories, yet the depth of the values instilled in us remains etched in our minds forever. It was a time when the foundation of our individual successes began to take shape. We may not have fully appreciated those moments at the time, but they were the most valuable moments of our lives. Our primary purpose in coming to the institution was to gain an education that would pave the way for a better tomorrow, unaware that life had so much more to offer.

As we reflect on those days, we remember the laughter, the camaraderie, and the lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom. The friendships forged, the challenges overcome, and the dreams nurtured within those walls have left an indelible mark on our hearts. Our mentors, with unwavering dedication, guided us through the maze of adolescence, helping us grow not just academically, but as individuals. They taught us the importance of resilience, integrity, and compassion—values that have carried us through the decades.

In retrospect, those carefree days were a precious gift, a time when we could explore, learn, and grow without the weight of the world on our shoulders. The institution was not just a place of learning, but a sanctuary where we could dream and aspire. As we journey through life, we carry the lessons and memories of those formative years with us, forever grateful for the foundation they provided. This is where we can truly say that Sacred Heart Academy shines brightly.

This video was initially intended to be part of our 47th anniversary celebration video, alongside our other memoirs scheduled to be posted next year. However, upon further evaluation, we realized that the significance of this event requires a different approach.

Therefore, we have decided to post the video separately to ensure it receives the full attention it deserves. This way, both the memoirs and the video can be appreciated fully, each highlighting the importance of our milestone anniversary. It is our desire that future generations fully grasp the school’s achievements based on the outcomes of its students.

We appreciate your understanding for the delayed posting of this video from the celebration time.
