𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘿𝙞𝙚: 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙮 𝘼𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙤

The 21st of August is declared a special non-working holiday in the Philippines to commemorate the death anniversary of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. On February 25, 2004, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo officially signed Republic Act No. 9256, establishing the day as what Filipinos regard as “Ninoy Aquino Day.”

Ninoy Aquino was a Filipino senator and journalist known for being the leading critic of the Marcos governance. He used his public platform to denounce him and ongoing political corruption through Senate speeches and public statements.

Prior to Aquino’s demise, the masses expected him to run for president in the 1973 elections against Ferdinand Marcos—the president elected in 1965. However, Marcos had him taken into solitary confinement for seven years when he instituted martial law in 1972. Then, he permitted Aquino to undergo heart surgery in the United States, which soon led to the exile of the senator. Aquino spent his time abroad criticizing Marcos and his dictatorial leadership.

He returned to the Philippines on August 21, 1983, despite being aware of the adverse circumstances awaiting him. After landing from his flight, Aquino was assassinated at the Manila International Airport. The gunman accountable for the incident remained unknown, though most Filipinos speculated that Marcos was behind the scenes.

The event provoked a sense of unity among the Filipinos, eventually leading to the People Power Revolution in February 1986—a series of nonviolent protests that ceased the Marcos dictatorship and restored Filipino democracy. Ninoy Aquino’s influence and death paved the way for his wife, Corazon “Cory” Aquino, to be the succeeding president of the nation—the first woman appointed to the position.

Ninoy Aquino became a symbol of hope and fortitude amidst flawed systems. He remained steadfast in his mission to reignite the Filipinos’ desire for democracy. Despite the risks, he believed that “the Filipino is worth dying for.”

The Welcome Sign is Hung Up Once Again! 🏫👑

“𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆!” 💫 The Kings lets its doors open again to preschool students on August 14. The welcoming smiles & greetings of our Stuco members serves as a memorable experience that would mark the very first day of school. 🎒

Besides the warm greetings, pencils ✏️ were given out at the entrance. Further down the lobby, their curiosity and love for thrill drew students to the large vending machine filled with prizes such as keychains and LEGO bricks. 🧱 This all added to the lively ambiance that has all been prepared by our wonderful school faculty and the Stuco. ❤️

As students enter their classrooms, they fill it with life. 📚🌟 Chatter and laughs echo through the walls as students not only meet their peers, but as well as the opportunities that fosters the grit & growth mindset the school was built upon. 🌱👑

Let this day be a day that lifts us up, to see how bright the road ahead of us is. ✨

𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨, 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨

On August 13, the Grade 1-2 students had their 𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚍𝚊𝚢 𝚘𝚏 𝚜𝚌𝚑𝚘𝚘𝚕, signifying a new year of challenges to overcome, memories to form, and friends to make. Adding to the excitement of the day was the 𝔾𝕠𝕝𝕕𝕖𝕟 𝕃𝕠𝕝𝕒⚜️👵, who made a memorable appearance for the young Kings.

For the Grade 1 students, this school year is even more special as they transition from 𝕊𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕠𝕣 𝕂𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕠 𝔾𝕣𝕒𝕕𝕖 𝕊𝕔𝕙𝕠𝕠𝕝, marking an important milestone in their journey. 🌟✍️

As the students entered the school, they were warmly greeted by the StuCo passing out 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙨.✏️ Moreover, 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙬 𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚 🧸 served as entertainment for the young kids as they tried their best to earn the prizes inside.

The Kings were not only welcomed by the StuCo but by a painted mime woman, the 𝔾𝕠𝕝𝕕𝕖𝕟 𝕃𝕠𝕝𝕒. Putting on a show for the students, the Golden Lola showcased her dance moves during a special Theater Thursday. Ending the performance, Golden Lola answered questions from selected Kings including, "𝗐𝗁𝗒 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝖼𝗈𝗅𝗈𝗋 𝗀𝗈𝗅𝖽?", responding how gold signifies 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙮. 💛

All in all, the day set a positive tone for the year to look forward to. Here's to a new chapter--𝓌𝑒𝓁𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝒷𝒶𝒸𝓀 𝒢𝓇𝒶𝒹𝑒 1-2 𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈! 🙌🙏

📚 August 12, 2026, marked the 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔 for our Grade School students, bringing a 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒉 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 filled with new faces, familiar smiles, and the eager anticipation of another school year. 🌟

As students arrived on campus, members of the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 (𝑺𝒕𝒖𝑪𝒐) welcomed them and handed out pencils ✏️, giving them a small but meaningful token to begin their first day of school. Adding to the lively atmosphere, 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝑪𝒐 also played 𝒖𝒑𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄 🎶 in the lobby, giving the students a cheerful soundtrack as they arrived. 💫

Once the students filled their 𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒔 🏫, the school came to life with the energy of a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. From seeing acquainted classmates to stepping into a new school year, the first day was a chance for students to 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓱 and look forward to the memories they will create along the way. 🌱📖
