The Inosloban-Marawoy Integrated National High School (IMINHS) conducted an Orientation on the Conduct of the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents, bringing together teaching and non-teaching personnel, School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) officers, and representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to strengthen the school community’s preparedness and coordinated response to possible active attack incidents.

The orientation was led by School Principal Mr. Joe I. Titular and spearheaded by Mr. Roland Fesalbon, School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Focal Person, as part of the school’s preparations for the nationwide safety drill directed by the Department of Education (DepEd).

The activity centered on the importance of school preparedness, preventive measures, emergency response, and inter-agency coordination in ensuring the safety and security of learners and school personnel during an active attack or active shooter incident.

Among the key points discussed were the School Contingency Plan for Incidents Involving Active Shooters, identification of potential risks and threats, establishment of clear roles and responsibilities among school personnel, appropriate emergency communication procedures, coordination with the PNP and other concerned agencies, and the proper implementation of safety and security protocols during an emergency.

The orientation also emphasized the need for school personnel and stakeholders to become familiar with appropriate protective actions, lockdown and evacuation procedures, designated safe areas, emergency exits, and other measures intended to protect lives during a critical incident. DepEd’s current directives call for schools to strengthen their contingency plans and immerse learners, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and school administrators in safety and coordination protocols for active attack or active shooting incidents.

The participation of PNP representatives further highlighted the importance of law enforcement coordination, emergency communication, and unified response between the school and responding authorities.

The activity forms part of IMINHS’s continuing commitment to building a safe, prepared, and resilient school community, where every member understands their role in protecting lives and maintaining a secure learning environment.

Accordingly, Inosloban-Marawoy Integrated National High School will implement the appropriate Alternative Learning Mode (ALM) for learners.
