Bureau of Fire Protection Leads Flood Cleanup Efforts at Lipa City Sports Academy

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Batangas Provincial Office, under the leadership of FSSUPT Annalee G. Carbajal-Atienza, Provincial Fire Marshal, promptly responded to the request of Lipa City Sports Academy for immediate assistance in pressure washing the school's flood-affected grounds following the severe flooding caused by continuous heavy rains on August 8, 2026. Supporting the operation were the personnel of the BFP Lipa City Youth and Cultural Center Sub-Station, with fire truck crews composed of FO3 Mandie Giovanne P. Las, FO1 Mark Lester Saludo, FO1 John Renz Macondo, and FO1 Jhamil Dimaculangan, who worked diligently to help restore the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the school campus.

The flooding left thick layers of mud, silt, and other debris throughout the school grounds, affecting classrooms, corridors, walkways, open spaces, and other learning facilities. The accumulated flood residues posed potential health and safety hazards to learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and other stakeholders. In response to the school's urgent request, the BFP immediately deployed its personnel and fire truck equipped with high-pressure water systems to conduct an extensive pressure-washing operation, ensuring the prompt removal of flood debris and the restoration of sanitary conditions across the campus.

The coordinated cleanup operation significantly hastened the rehabilitation of the school and highlighted the Bureau's unwavering commitment to public service beyond its firefighting and emergency response functions. Through the efficient use of specialized equipment, technical expertise, and the dedication of its personnel, the BFP played a vital role in preparing the school for the safe resumption of regular classes. The initiative likewise demonstrated the value of strong collaboration among government agencies in responding to the immediate needs of educational institutions affected by natural disasters.

Earlier today, Dr. Ronaldo V. Ramilo, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, visited Lipa City Sports Academy to assess the condition of the school following the flooding caused by the recent heavy rains.

During the visit, Dr. Ramilo monitored the extent of the damage brought about by the flood, inspected the school facilities, and discussed the immediate recovery efforts necessary to ensure the safety and readiness of the school for the resumption of normal operations.

Lipa City Sports Academy expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Ramilo for his guidance, support, and commitment to ensuring that schools remain safe and conducive to learning despite the challenges brought by natural calamities.

Ang Lipa City Sports Academy ay taos-pusong naghihikayat sa lahat ng mga magulang, guardians, alumni, at iba pang stakeholders na makiisa sa Programang Brigada Eskwela 365 na gaganapin sa ika-10 ng Agosto 2026 (Lunes), ganap na ika-7:00 ng umaga, upang magsagawa ng paglilinis at pagsasaayos ng paaralan na naapektuhan ng kamakailang pagbaha.

Hinihiling din po namin sa lahat ng makikibahagi na magdala ng mga kagamitang panlinis tulad ng basahan, walis tambo, walis tingting, timba, mop, floor wiper, brush, dustpan, garbage bags, at iba pang cleaning materials na makatutulong sa mas mabilis at mas maayos na paglilinis ng ating paaralan.

Ang inyong oras, lakas, at anumang maiaambag ay malaking tulong upang maihanda ang ating paaralan para sa ligtas, malinis, at maayos na pagbabalik ng ating mga mag-aaral sa face-to-face classes.

Samantala, habang isinasagawa ang rehabilitasyon at paglilinis ng paaralan, ang mga klase ay pansamantalang isasagawa sa pamamagitan ng Alternative Delivery Modality of Learning (ADM) hanggang sa matiyak na ligtas at angkop na muli ang kapaligiran para sa harapang pagkatuto.
