𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝘁, 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱!

Kung may award lang para sa suspension and alternative learning modes-filled na first week, siguradong podium finish ang CABE Warriors.

After several weeks of preparing for the new semester with pagplantsa ng uniform, pag-advanced study, pagbuo ng bagong study routine, pagse-set ng alarm, at andiyan pa yung mga “new semester, new me” ang atake, akala ng lahat, finally, magsisimula na ang laban.

Ready na ang notebooks. Ready na ang ballpen. Ready na rin sana ang utak. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans.

Nagsimula sa isang suspension. Sinundan ng isa pa. Naging tatlo… and so on. Na tila pansamantalang napabilang ang ilan sa Bachelor of Science in Waiting for Announcements. Winner!

Bago pa man makilala nang maayos ang mga professor at makasama muli ang mga kaklase, mas nakilala muna ng students ang official announcement pages. Hanggang every morning became a ritual na. Hindi na: “Anong subject natin ngayon?” Kundi: “May klase daw ba tayo ngayon?”

May mga estudyanteng kagabi pa lang ay nakita na ang announcement at biglang nagkaroon ng bagong buhay. May iba namang gumising nang maaga, naligo, nagbihis, nag-ayos ng gamit, at saka lang nabasa sa GC. Hassle! Relief dahil walang pasok. Sama ng loob dahil: “Bakit ngayon ko lang nalaman?!”

May nagplantsa ng uniform. May nag-set ng tatlong alarm. May gumising nang 3:00 AM para sa 7:00 AM class. At may isang estudyanteng tulog pa rin, completely unaware of the plot twist. Hindi pa nga alam kung saan ang Room TBA, cancelled na agad ang classroom experience. Ni Hindi pa nakakapag-first day picture. Screenshots ng suspension announcement, meron.

Priorities are prioritizing!

Sa isang banda, nakababahala ang sitwasyon. Sa kabilang banda, ipinapakita rin nito kung gaano kabilis kailangang umangkop ng mga estudyante sa mga pagbabagong dala ng panahon. Sa gitna ng mga cancellations at pagbabago sa schedule, nananatili ang paghahanda para sa semester na hinihintay nilang magsimula. At kahit gustong-gusto nang pumasok ng iba, mahirap naman sumuong sa malakas na ulan.

After all, no first-day attendance is worth risking anyone’s safety. Kung kailangang maantala ang face to face classes para makaiwas sa panganib, then suspend away. Mas okay nang ma-late ang first-day experience kaysa ma-compromise ang kaligtasan ng lahat.

Pero kahit ilang beses pang maantala ang first week fantasy, sana hindi mawala ang excitement para sa panibagong semester. Marami pang unang beses at panibagong laban ang naghihintay sa bawat CABE Warrior.

Every great school year starts with a memorable story.

The semester may have started with heavy rain and suspension announcements than actual classroom meetings, don't worry! Brighter day and even deadlines are definitely on the way.

Such is the remarkable story of Mr. Axl Rose Presas, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management student from the College of Accountancy, Business and Economics (CABE), whose unwavering commitment to excellence, service, and leadership earned him the highest distinction as Top 1 of The Outstanding Students Award (TOSA) 2026.

𝐀 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞
Behind every remarkable achievement lies a purpose greater than personal ambition. For Mr. Presas, leadership has always been rooted in service and the sincere desire to empower others. Throughout his collegiate journey, he has embraced every opportunity not merely to excel, but to become an instrument of growth for those around him.

His dedication found expression through his active involvement in various student organizations, where he continuously cultivated collaboration, responsibility, and meaningful engagement. As a member of Sayaw Juan, The Apex, the CABE Council, and theYPMAP, he demonstrated that genuine leadership flourishes wherever compassion meets commitment. Every organization became more than a platform for participation. It became a community where he learned, served, inspired, and grew alongside fellow students who shared the same vision of making a lasting difference.

As a student of Human Resource Management, Mr. Presas embraced a discipline founded upon understanding people and recognizing their limitless potential. This perspective shaped the leader he has become today. He believes that true leadership is measured not by authority or recognition, but by the ability to inspire confidence, nurture growth, and encourage others to become the best versions of themselves.

His journey has been marked by perseverance, humility, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. For Mr. Presas, leadership has never been about leaving behind a list of accomplishments. It has always been about leaving behind people who have become stronger because someone believed in them.
Reflecting on the values that have guided his journey, he shares:

"It has always been about helping others realize that they, too, can become leaders. And if one day someone becomes braver because of my story, chooses to serve because of my example, or dares to dream because I believed in them, then I can say that my journey was worthwhile."

These words beautifully capture the very essence of his character. They reveal a leader whose greatest aspiration is not to be remembered for his achievements, but for the courage, hope, and confidence he has inspired in others.

Being recognized as TOSA 2026 Top 1 is far more than a celebration of academic distinction or organizational involvement. It is a testament to a young leader whose journey has been shaped by purpose, guided by humility, and enriched by an enduring commitment to serve.

Mr. Axl Rose Presas stands as a shining embodiment of the ideals upheld by the College of Accountancy, Business and Economics and Batangas State University. His story reminds every student that genuine success is never measured solely by medals, titles, or recognition. Rather, it is reflected in the lives we inspire, the communities we strengthen, and the hope we leave behind.

NEWS | The College of Accountancy, Business and Economics (CABE) marked its fifth domination in the Ten Outstanding Students Awards (TOSA) as four graduating students from the college were recognized during the Recognition Ceremonies held at the Assemblyman Rafael R. Recto Gymnasium, BatStateU The NEU – Lipa, July 16.

Among the CABE awardees were Axl Rose N. Presas, a graduating Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management student, who secured Rank 1 spot; Rowela Jane Trinidad, a graduating Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management student, placing 4th; Eleina Rica Mhei Mables, also a graduating Marketing Management student, ranking 9th ; Nicole Allen Cortez, likewise a graduating Marketing Management student, earning the 10th rank in this year's Ten Outstanding Students Awards.

The TOSA recognizes graduating students who have demonstrated exemplary academic performance, leadership, and meaningful contributions to the University and the community. More than a recognition of achievement, the award honors students whose commitment and service have created a lasting impact throughout their years in the institution.

The recognition of four CABE students underscores the college's continued commitment to developing graduates who embody excellence, leadership, and service, reflecting the values upheld by the University.

FEATURE| Pride in Hue: Seeing Rays of CABE in a Different Light

Hues often tell stories long before words do. A single color can symbolize courage, creativity, growth, trust, and even the values that shape a community. As Pride Month begin, colors take on a deeper meaning where they do not merely exist as shades arranged in a spectrum, but as representations of identity, diversity, and belonging.

Within the College of Accountancy, Business and Economics (CABE), a similar spectrum exists. Public Administration stands in red, Operations Management in orange, Human Resource Management in green, Management Accounting in blue, and Marketing Management in violet. Distinct in color and character, each organization carries its own identity, values, and aspirations.

What makes this spectrum remarkable is that it was never intentionally designed to become one. The colors were chosen independently by their respective organizations, each representing the principles and goals of their programs. Yet, when viewed together, they unexpectedly form a rainbow. A symbol often associated with diversity, individuality, and inclusion. It is a realization that many within the college have only recently noticed, but one that beautifully reflects the essence of CABE itself where different identities standing side by side, creating something greater than their individual shades.

As students from different organizations shared the meanings behind their colors, it became evident that each hue carries a purpose beyond representation.

Representing the ray of red in the rainbow, the red of the Public Administration Student Association (PASA) carries a meaning deeper than its shade. For Ms. Baldo, Creative and Branding Officer of PASA, the transition from primary red to maroon reflects the organization's maturity and sense of responsibility. “Shifting from primary red to maroon brings academic weight and institutional sobriety to our identity. It signifies civic duty, structural reliability, and the profound responsibility of an association that holds itself accountable to its student body and future constituents,” she replied.

Radiating warmth and enthusiasm, the orange of the Association of Operations Management Students (AOMS) symbolizes positivity, inclusivity, and the relationships built within the organization. For Ms. Lebrilla, President of AOMS, the color serves as a constant reminder that, "Even though Operations Management can be complex, we want every OM student to bring this color’s bright energy to life, turning our shared passion into hard work and growing from students into the managers of tomorrow,” she shared. Through its vibrant hue, AOMS reflects a community that values both excellence and the people who make growth possible.

Carrying the green shade of the spectrum, the Young People Management Association of the Philippines (YPMAP) draws its identity from a color that represents growth and abundance. For Mr. Banog, President of YPMAP, the color embodies the aspirations of the organization and its members. “The green color in our logo symbolizes the growth and abundance that the organization is striving to achieve, particularly within the field of Human Resource Management,” he shared.

Meanwhile, the blue of the Junior Philippine Association of Management Accountants (JPAMA) represents wisdom and peace including the qualities that are essential in leadership and service. According to Mr. Silva, Graphic and Media Officer of JPAMA, the color conveys knowledge, sound judgment, and the organization's desire to foster unity and harmony among its leaders and members.

Completing the spectrum is the violet of the Junior Marketing Executives (JME), a color that embodies the values upheld by the organization. As shared by Mr. Lunar, violet represents integrity, leadership, creativity, greatness, and excellence. “It symbolizes the organization's commitment to developing competent and visionary marketing students who lead with purpose, think creatively, and strive for continuous growth and development,” he explained.

With red, orange, green, blue, and violet representing the different student organizations of CABE, an unexpected spectrum emerges that reflects both identity and diversity within the college. Although each color was originally chosen to represent the unique values and aspirations of its organization, together they naturally form a rainbow-like unity that echoes the essence of Pride Month. This resemblance highlights that diversity becomes more meaningful when different identities coexist and contribute to a shared sense of belonging and purpose.

In celebrating Pride Month, CABE not only recognizes the beauty of diversity but also the power of unity found within it. The spectrum formed by its organizations serves as a reminder that differences are not barriers but strengths that enrich the college and the people within it. Because at the end of the day, a rainbow is not made of one color alone, it needs to shine as every hue is given the space to exist.

NEWS| The College of Accountancy, Business and Economics (CABE) elected its new set of student leaders for the Academic Year 2026–2027 as 1,038 CABE students cast their votes through an online voting process conducted via Google Forms, resulting in the victory of CORE Party candidates across key council positions.

Based on the official results, Llaga was elected president with 886 votes, leading the incoming CABE Council for the Academic Year 2026–2027. Also elected were Ilao (Chief Internal Operations Officer) with 845 votes, Mamiit (Chief External Relations Officer) with 818 votes, Cabral (Chief Administration Officer) with 816 votes, Prieto (Chief Financial Officer) with 796 votes, Chavez (Chief Communication Officer) with 835 votes, Laroza (Chief Partnerships and Recognition Officer) with 817 votes, Manalo (Chief Logistics Officer) with 803 votes, Bantayaon (Chief Audit Officer) with 808 votes, and Lumot (Director of Finance) with 823 votes following the conclusion of the college-wide election.

The election marked the culmination of campaign activities and candidate engagements, including SURIWARI 2026, an initiative organized by Metamorphosis that provided aspiring officers with a platform to present their platforms, address student concerns, and share their vision for the college community.

Through the online voting process, CABE students participated in selecting representatives who will lead the student body and implement programs and initiatives for the upcoming academic year.

The newly elected officers are expected to assume office in the upcoming academic year and carry out their responsibilities in promoting student welfare, strengthening student engagement, and advancing the interests of the CABE community.

The CABE Council Elections 2026 underscored the importance of student participation in campus governance, as students exercised their right to vote and contribute to the future direction of the college through democratic leadership.

𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗜 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | As of 5:00 PM earlier today, the CABE Council Election has garnered 939 responses out of the 1,483 total student population, accumulating a voter turnout of 63%. While a significant number of students have already exercised their right to vote, the CABE Council Electoral Board recognizes the importance of broader participation to ensure that the mandate of the next set of student leaders truly reflects the voice of the majority.

In line with this, the voting process has officially been extended until tomorrow, June 08, at 5:00 PM. Students who have not yet cast their votes are highly encouraged to participate and take part in this democratic process.

As the CABE Council Election draws near, every vote carries the power to shape the kind of student leadership that will represent the yellow and black community for the coming academic year.

This Pride Month, Metamorphosis: The Official Student Publication of the College of Accountancy, Business and Economics stands beside every individual whose identity became an act of resistance and whose authenticity became a symbol of courage.

As a symbol of solidarity and allyship, Metamorphosis will also be releasing Pride Month Edition which will happen every Friday throughout June—amplifying stories, voices, and expressions that deserve to be seen and celebrated.
