Heavenly Father, we come to you today with heavy but hopeful hearts.
We lift up to You every family across our country who has been suffering because of these continuous rains, the strong winds, the severe flooding and the landslides that have not stopped for days now. You see them, Lord. You see the mother holding her child tight while the water rises inside their home. You see the father trying to be strong even when he has lost almost everything. You see the children who are scared and cold, the elderly who cannot move quickly, and those who are sick and have nowhere to go. Please wrap them in Your comfort and keep them safe.
In a special way, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Zambales and Bulacan. These provinces have been hit so hard. Many homes are under water, many livelihoods are destroyed, and many are still waiting for help. Lord, be their shelter when they have no roof. Be their strength when they feel like giving up. Let help reach them quickly and let them feel that they are not forgotten.
We also remember with love those who have been impacted by the catastrophe in Nepal. Even though they are far away from us, their pain is real and their loss is heavy. May Your mercy be upon them. May You comfort those who mourn, heal those who are hurt, and give hope to those who are still searching for their loved ones.
Father, teach us to be more than just people who say we will pray. Move our hearts to act. If we have time, let us give our time. If we have strength, let us offer our service. If we have even a little, let us share our resources to those who have nothing left. Make us kinder, more compassionate, and more willing to help without expecting anything in return.
We also pray for our rescuers, our volunteers, our soldiers, our medical teams, and all those who continue to risk their lives to save others. Protect them, Lord. Give them energy and courage.
We entrust everything to You, Lord. We may not have all the answers, but we trust in Your goodness. Please calm the storms, both outside and inside us. Please bring healing to our land and to our people.
God bless us all. God Bless the Philippines, and God bless the world.
We ask this in Your most holy and mighty name.
Amen.
