This is the piece that earned Gab Dizon his First Prize in the preliminary round of the 20th Hong Kong (Asia Pacific) Music Competition. 🎻

Küchler, Ferdinand: Concertino op. 15 in the style of Antonio Vivaldi

Gab performed this piece in the preliminary round, earning First Prize and qualifying him for the Finals in Hong Kong. 🇭🇰

Under the tutelage of Tr. Pau Denito, Gab continues to grow as a violinist.

For the past year and a half, Gab has also been the Concertmaster of the First Beat String Orchestra, taking on an important role in leading our young musicians and setting an example through his dedication and musicianship.

We are incredibly proud of you, Gab. From leading our orchestra to now qualifying for the Finals of an international music competition, this is another milestone in your journey as a violinist.

🇵🇭✨ FROM LIPA CITY TO HONG KONG! 🇭🇰✨

We are incredibly proud to announce that our students, Sam Gonzales (Piano) and Gab Dizon (Violin), have both been awarded FIRST PRIZE in the Preliminary Round of the 20th Hong Kong (Asia Pacific) Music Competition! 🥇🎶

With this achievement, they have officially qualified for the FINALS in Hong Kong, where they will represent the Philippines on the international stage. 🇵🇭🇭🇰

Months of preparation, countless hours of practice, and their dedication to music have brought them to this incredible opportunity.

Congratulations, Sam and Gab! Your First Beat family is so proud of you. ❤️

A little piano moment from Moty! 🎹✨

Meet Moty, one of our dedicated piano students at The First Beat! 💛

In this video, Moty is working on two fun and lively pieces that are helping him develop important musical skills:

🎵 Accent Marks — learning how to give certain notes more emphasis, bringing more character and expression into the music.

🎵 Upbeats — learning how a melody can begin before the strong beat while keeping a steady pulse and sense of rhythm.

But beyond the notes and rhythms, what makes Moty’s progress extra special is his dedication. He is such a hardworking and committed student who consistently puts effort into his practice and takes every lesson seriously. 🎹👏

It’s always wonderful to see a young musician grow through patience, discipline, and consistent practice.

Bel Canto Opera Philippines’ Italian Opera Aria
Masterclass with Maestro Hyun Joon Park:

✨ VIA VILLASIN, mezzo-soprano

Via Villasin started her classical music studies under
the tutelage of Prof. Maribel Miguel Ararao and
graduated from the Santa Isabel College Manila
(SICM) Conservatory of Music.

Her artistry has been recognized nationally
by winning 2nd Prize in the 2025 (NAMCYA)
National Music Competitions for Young Artists
Senior Voice B Category.

Via has honed her craft through vocal masterclasses
with distinguished artists such as Joseleo Logdat,
Zip de Guzman, Arthur Espiritu, Rachelle Gerodias,
Park Byeong-In, Rodell Rosel, and Jose Vera Perez.

Her operatic journey includes early work in
The Mikado which is part of their Theater Arts
Class at SIC, ensemble performances in Noli
Me Tangere, the Opera (2019) at Cultural Center
of the Philippines and Don Pasquale at Samsung Performing Arts Theater with the Philippine
Philharmonic Orchestra, and a featured role as
La Maestra delle Novizie in Suor Angelica (2024)
held at Arete in Ateneo de Manila University with
the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

In 2025, she achieved a milestone with her
first lead role as Dorabella in Così fan tutte,
a Pasipo opera production.

Beyond opera, Via has explored acting through
film roles—including the thesis film ALTAR (2016)
and Star Cinema’s Block Z (2020) starring Julia
Barretto & Joshua Garcia—and has trained through
workshops and masterclasses with Ina Feleo
Chai Fonacier, and Malou de Guzman.

Committed to nurturing young musicians,
she has also been teaching voice and piano
for beginners since 2015.
