Pangasinan State University (PSU) President ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐„๐ฅ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ญ ๐Œ. ๐†๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฌ led the University's delegation to the Luzon Cluster of the AACCUP/AQAN, SEAMEO-RIHED, and AUN Workshop on University Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) held from July 14โ€“16, 2026 at Marikina Polytechnic College, Marikina City.

It reaffirmed the collective commitment of State Universities and Colleges to excellence in instruction, research, extension, production, and governance while advancing innovation, sustainability, inclusivity, and transformative nation-building.

The University's historic Platinum recognition builds upon years of continuous improvement. Under the leadership of former University President Dr. Buted, PSU first earned the Silver Accreditation in 2018, becoming the first and only public university in Asia to do so.

The University sustained its momentum by achieving Gold Accreditation in 2021, laying the foundation for the Platinum distinction attained under the administration of President Galas.
The ceremony also included the Awarding of Citation of Distinction to IiP Philippines, recognizing the organization's invaluable partnership in guiding PSU toward the highest level of international accreditation in people management.

Earlier in the program, the audio-visual presentation "The IiP Platinum: A Journey Worth Investing In" revisited PSU's transformation and the rigorous IiP Conversations that culminated in the University's historic Platinum recognition.

President Galas emphasized the importance of upholding excellence, accountability, and service in the University's operations, noting that the Performance-Based Bonus serves not only as an incentive but also as a recognition of the dedication and collective efforts of PSU personnel in advancing the University's goals throughout 2024.

The discussion centered on the University's compliance with the performance requirements set by the national government, including the documentation and validation processes necessary for the grant of the PBB. The Planning Office also provided updates on the University's performance indicators and the corresponding requirements under the government's performance management system.

The meeting followed Malacaรฑang's announcement that eligible government employees are expected to receive their Fiscal Year 2024 Performance-Based Bonus within the year, with funding provided under the 2026 General Appropriations Act. The incentive is granted to qualified personnel in government agencies that satisfy the performance standards prescribed by the national government.
