The PSU Quality Assurance Office

In 2015, PSU set sail towards quality assurance through ISO 9001:2015 and was granted the certification in 2016 which placed harmony and synchronization of the services and operations rendered in all its academic units. PSU was cited as the first SUC in the Philippines to have ISO 9001:2015 Certification by an internationally recognized accrediting body and in 2017, covered all the Multi-Campus Scope. Because of the implementation and continuous improvement of PSUโ€™s established QMS, the university has received numerous recognitions and awards along quality assurance and good governance. PSU is Institutionally Accredited SUC (Level II) by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP, Inc.) PSU was Institutional Sustainability Assessment (ISA) certified in 2018 and first Investors in People (IiP) silver awardee in Asia and Bronze Awardee for achieving Maturity Level 2 in the four (4) core Human Resource Management (HRM) systems: Recruitment, Selection and Placement (RSP), Learning and Development (L&D), Performance Management (PM) and Rewards and Recognition (R&R) awarded by Civil Service Commission Regional Office I. Lastly, COA rendered an UNMODIFIED OR UNQUALIFIED OPINION on the fairness of the presentation of the financial statements of the University as of December 31, 2019. Unmodified auditorโ€™s opinion is the highest form of opinion that can be accorded to a government agency. It means that the financial statements of PSU are presented in accordance with applicable financial reporting frameworks and that they are in conformity with existing accounting rules and policies. Because the administration has put best effort in ensuring quality in all its operations and functions, the AACCUP recognized PSU as one among the five universities in the Philippines to have Outstanding Internal Quality Assurance Unit in 2018.

The First Local Accreditation was conducted today, ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, covering programs from ๐๐’๐” ๐๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ฆ๐›๐š๐ง๐  ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ, ๐‹๐ข๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ, ๐’๐š๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ ๐‚๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐’๐” ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐€๐๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ ๐’๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ข๐ž๐ฌ (๐’๐€๐’). This activity served as an important preparatory stage for assessing program readiness, validating documentary requirements, and strengthening the evidence base in preparation for the AACCUP accreditation survey visit scheduled for ๐Ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’โ€“๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”.

The onsite assessment was undertaken by designated local accreditors from the Universityโ€™s roster of faculty members who are certified AACCUP accreditors. For BS Hospitality Management, ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ข๐ฌ๐จ ๐…. ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ served as Team Leader, with ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐š๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐š ๐Œ. ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐๐ž๐ฆ as Lead Accreditor. The BS Business Administration - Community Service Revisit was assessed by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‹๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐€. ๐’๐š๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ฌ.

For BS Information Technology, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ฆ ๐•. ๐‚๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ง๐จ served as Team Leader, with ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‚๐ข๐ž๐ฅ๐จ ๐‚. ๐…๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐๐ž๐ณ as Lead Accreditor. The Bachelor of Elementary Education evaluation was led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‹๐ข๐ณ๐š ๐‹. ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง as Team Leader and ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž ๐“. ๐Œ๐ž๐ซ๐œ๐š๐๐จ as Lead Accreditor.

Meanwhile, the Master of Arts in Education was evaluated by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‚๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ž ๐‚. ๐ƒ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ as Team Leader and ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‘๐š๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐‰๐จ๐ฒ ๐Œ. ๐•๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ง as Lead Accreditor. For the Doctor of Education, ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‚๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ญ๐š ๐‚. ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ served as Team Leader, with ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Œ๐š๐ž ๐’. ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐œ๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐ง as Lead Accreditor. Beyond document checking, the onsite activity provided an opportunity for the program teams to closely examine the status of their accreditation preparations. The accreditors conducted an ๐Ÿ–๐ŸŽ% completeness check of the required documentary submissions, supporting evidence, and accreditation exhibits, while also providing observations, recommendations, and technical guidance to address identified gaps and further strengthen the programsโ€™ respective areas.

The activity likewise enabled the program Technical Working Groups to review their evidence and documentation and ensure alignment between the programsโ€™ actual practices and the requirements of the AACCUP survey. Through this collaborative process, the University continues to promote a culture of preparedness, evidence-based quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

The re-orientation provided an important platform to align efforts, assess the current level of preparedness, and strengthen strategies toward the forthcoming IA Survey Visits. Key matters discussed included the status of preparations, major accreditation agendas and requirements, and the crafting and organization of Technical Working Groups that will support and address the various areas of the accreditation process.

The activity highlighted the importance of concerted efforts and close coordination among University and Campus Officials, College Deans, and other concerned personnel in ensuring a unified and comprehensive preparation for the Institutional Accreditation.

As the November 2026 IA Survey Visits approach, PSU remains committed to strengthening its quality assurance systems and processes while fostering a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and institutional excellence across the University.

MANILA | September 9โ€“11, 2026 โ€” Pangasinan State University (PSU) further strengthens its commitment to international quality assurance and academic excellence as its academic leaders participated in the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) Writing Workshop for Successful AUN-QA Programme Assessment, held at Sheraton Manila Bay.

The three-day workshop provided participating higher education institutions with an avenue to enhance their knowledge and competencies in preparing comprehensive and evidence-based Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) in accordance with the standards and requirements of the ASEAN University Networkโ€“Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme Assessment.

Representing Pangasinan State University were Dr. Susan D. Tiangson, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Letters; Dr. Jocelyn S. De Vera, Dean of the College of Teacher Education; Dr. Maria Berenice Glizzle M. Catabay, Dean of the Institute of Nursing; and Engr. Rex B. Basuel, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture.

The participants engaged in discussions, workshops, and collaborative activities focused on strengthening the content and presentation of SARs, particularly in documenting program practices, evidence of quality, achievements, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Their participation underscores PSUโ€™s continuing efforts to align its academic programs with internationally benchmarked quality assurance standards and to further institutionalize a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the University.

The activity also supports PSUโ€™s pursuit of internationalization and global recognition, as the University continues to prepare its academic programs for AUN-QA assessment and other international quality assurance initiatives.

Through the active engagement of its academic leaders, PSU remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering quality, relevant, and globally competitive education to its learners and stakeholders.
