The Department of Business and Accountancy (DBA) of Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on Friday, officially welcomed its students during their annual Department Orientation, equipping students with essential academic information and introducing its faculty members and student organizations, held at Limay Sports Complex, July 17.
Department Head Dr. John Levy L. Rueda, formally opened the program with his welcome message, encouraging the freshmen to embrace every opportunity, actively participate, and remain committed to learning throughout their stay at LPC.
โAs you go through your journey with us, I encourage you to be involved, be open to learning, and make the most of every opportunity. Your time here is not only about earning a degree; it is also about building your confidence, developing your skills, and preparing yourself for the future,โ he said.
The orientation continued with the introduction of the departmentโs faculty members led nby Ms. Rizzalyn M. Hussain, faculty adviser of the Operations Management Society, together with Ms. Alyssa Mae Saberdo.
Mr. Ariel T. Vibar, MBA, director of Finance and Administrative Services presented the departmentโs academic policies.
An open forum was then conducted, allowing the freshmen to raise questions and gain clarification on academic and departmental concerns before the introduction of the department's student organizations and their respective officers.
The program also featured Yapak ng Paglalakbay: Kwento ng Paglaban, where third-year student Ms. Phoebe Taneo and fourth-year student Mr. Mark Rainier Pador shared their personal journeys, encouraging the freshmen to persevere, take pride in being LPCians, and pursue their goals with passion and determination.
Sofia C. Pacorsa, acting president of the LPC Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), led the Panata ng Isang Mag-aaral, reaffirming the studentsโ commitment to academic excellence and responsible leadership.
The orientation further highlighted the Personal Collection (PC) Training Program, where members shared the organization's history, accomplishments, and inspiring experiences.
PC team recognized the Top 10 student sellers from the collegeโs Marketing Department for their outstanding performance.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Judy Miranda, who thanked the students, faculty members, staff, and student leaders for their participation and collective efforts in making the annual department orientation a successful and meaningful start to the academic year. #
