The Crossroads’ Campus Journalists Shine at Liloan District Schools' Press Conference 2026
LILOAN, CEBU — Young campus journalists from Yati Elementary School showcased their writing skills and journalistic talents during the recently concluded District Schools' Press Conference (DSPC) Liloan 2026, held on September 3–4, 2026, at Arcelo Memorial National High School, Liloan, Cebu.
The two-day event brought together student journalists from both public and private elementary and high schools across the Municipality of Liloan.
The conference formally opened on September 3 at 1:00 p.m. through an opening program attended by participating schools, teachers, coaches, and student journalists. The activity marked the beginning of an exciting and meaningful gathering aimed at developing the skills and talents of young journalists.
On the second day, September 4, participants attended lectures and prepared for the contest proper from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. In the afternoon, the Radio Broadcasting Competition was held at 1:00 p.m., with elementary and high school students competing in both the English and Filipino categories. The two-day conference culminated with the much-awaited awarding ceremony at 3:00 p.m.
Yati Elementary School proudly celebrated the achievements of its young journalists, who brought home several awards in different individual writing categories.

Completing the roster of winners was Jeanrey Loisse W. Tesing, who won First Place in Science and Technology Writing (English) under the coaching of Mrs. Sally J. Anono.
For many of the winners, the DSPC Liloan 2026 was their first-ever experience participating in a District Schools' Press Conference. Despite the pressure and excitement of competing for the first time, the young journalists showed courage, determination, and confidence.
The experience allowed them to test their skills against fellow student journalists from different schools, apply what they had learned during their training, and gain valuable lessons from both the lectures and the competition itself. For the first-time participants, the conference was not only about winning awards but also about overcoming nervousness, making new friends, and discovering their potential as young writers and journalists.
Their achievements serve as an inspiration to other aspiring campus journalists of Yati Elementary School, proving that with proper guidance, dedication, and perseverance, young learners can confidently rise to new challenges.
The winners who placed from First to Third Place will advance to the next level of competition, which will be held on September 7–11, 2026, in the Municipality of Carmen, Cebu.
As they prepare to represent Yati Elementary School and the District of Liloan in the upcoming competition, the school community extends its warmest congratulations to all the winners, participants, coaches, and supporters.
Congratulations, Yati Elementary School Young Journalists! Continue writing, creating, and inspiring as you carry the voice of the young and the stories that matter.
