August 20, 2026 | St. Mary's Academy of Ligao, Inc. held an interactive raffle activity for its students during 𝘋𝘳. 𝘔𝘢. 𝘓𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘊. 𝘙𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴' afternoon session in the 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 & 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘪𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳-𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱.

The prizes, including USB flash drives, tumblers, tote bags, and umbrellas were sponsored by 𝘉𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 & 𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 (𝘉𝘙𝘏𝘔𝘊) 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘗𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 (𝘗𝘗𝘚, 𝘉𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘳).

The Marians in attendance were instructed to pick a slip of paper with a target reward written on it. In order to claim their target reward, the students had to answer a question based on the resource speaker's lecture about mental health. This initiative was able to improve student confidence and participation while also teaching them the importance of wellness advocacy.

August 20, 2026 | St. Mary's Academy of Ligao, Inc. held a 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳-𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘈𝘪𝘥 for the entire high school department in the Mother Ignacia Little Theater (MILT), guided by the theme "𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦 & 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥: 𝘕𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 (𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 & 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘌𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵)." The activity was proposed by the school's 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 (𝘚𝘋𝘖) 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥, 𝘔𝘴. 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘤 𝘕𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪.

To kick off the activity, resource speaker, 𝘋𝘳. 𝘕𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘊. 𝘈𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘳, discussed psychosocial changes in adolescence, stressing their significance in today's fast-paced society.

The second speaker, 𝘔𝘴. 𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦 𝘛. 𝘖𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘭, 𝘙𝘚𝘞, 𝘔𝘚𝘚𝘞 tackled safe internet exploration and Psychological First Aid (PFA), highlighting its necessity in various situations.

"𝙒𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚," said 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦 12 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘌𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴. "𝙒𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙-𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨."

The third speaker, 𝘋𝘳. 𝘔𝘢. 𝘓𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘊. 𝘙𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴, gave a presentation on physical development in early adolescents, emphasizing the role of hormones in physical maturation and the importance of maintaining personal hygiene.

"𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚, 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙪𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨," said Dr. Reyes. "𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩."

In the second phase of her lecture, Dr. Reyes brought up the steadily-rising issue of bullying.

"𝘽𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚," she said. "𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 (of bullying) 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨."

To address the common campus concern, Dr. Reyes suggested that the SDO implements a drop-box that allows students to report incidents without having to worry about academic and social retaliation.

"𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝—𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩," she stated.

Dr. Reyes also accentuated how physical changes and bullying during adolescence directly compound mental health challenges.

St. Mary’s Academy of Ligao, Inc., through the Student Development Office (SDO), invites all Grade 7–12 students to the Mental Health and Psychological First Aid Seminar-Workshop with the theme “Brave and Prepared: Navigating Crisis with Calm and Care (Building a More Supportive and Inclusive School Environment), tomorrow, August 20, 2026, at the Mother Ignacia Little Theater (MILT).

The 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 continued into its second day on August 17, 2026, bringing aspiring journalists together once again at the Audio Visual Room (AVR) under the theme, "𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦: 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨."

The workshop opened with a prayer led by Louise Navera, followed by the opening remarks and introduction delivered by 𝘔𝘴. 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘝. 𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘴. 𝘑𝘰𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘦 𝘒𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘭 𝘗. 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘭.

The morning continued with training sessions led by 𝘔𝘳. 𝘏𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘋𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘖. 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘥𝘢𝘺, who discussed Column Writing, Editorial Writing, and Broadcasting. 𝘔𝘳. 𝘑𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘌𝘥𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘔. 𝘛𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 also shared his expertise on Feature Writing (Lathalain), Sports Writing, and Copyreading & Headline Writing.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of participation.

August 15, 2026 | St. Mary’s Academy of Ligao (SMA-L) hosted an insightful outreach titled 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘒𝘈𝘓𝘐𝘕𝘐𝘚𝘐𝘗𝘈𝘕 in the school library centered on youth wellness. Organized by the 𝘐𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘴/𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘊𝘭𝘶𝘣 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘒𝘭𝘢𝘣, the activity carried the theme: "𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥, 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺: 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨." It aimed to foster greater awareness among young teenagers from the school's partner community, 𝘚𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘥, regarding mental health issues and essential personal hygiene practices.

Serving as the emcee was 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘦𝘭 𝘓𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯. The program began with an opening prayer led by 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘛𝘰𝘯𝘪 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘴. Following the prayer, 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘢 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭𝘢 𝘗𝘪𝘨𝘰𝘯 delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming the parents and teenagers in attendance. A brief energizer activity followed to engage the audience before the formal presentations.

To kick off the educational sessions, 𝘑𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦 𝘊𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘓𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘻 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘦 presented on mental health. Their talk illustrated the various ways young individuals experience mental health challenges and provided practical strategies for addressing and managing them.

Shifting the focus to physical wellness, 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘭 𝘑𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘶𝘦𝘭𝘰, 𝘙𝘢𝘭𝘱𝘩 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘦𝘫𝘢𝘯 𝘋𝘦 𝘈𝘭𝘢 led an informative discussion on personal hygiene. They emphasized its great importance during puberty and offered actionable routines and habits to help teenagers maintain good hygiene.

"𝘽𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣-𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙩, 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣," emphasized speaker Ralph Benedict Rempillo during the presentation.

To conclude the program, 𝘚. 𝘔𝘢. 𝘈𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘛𝘦𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘪, 𝘙𝘝𝘔, delivered inspiring remarks prior to the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits to the participants. The event officially came to a close with final remarks from 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘢 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭𝘢 𝘗𝘪𝘨𝘰𝘯, and a prayer led by 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘚𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘯.

Centered on the theme “𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘐𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺, 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦,” the celebration aimed to strengthen Marian devotion and inspire the community to live out its Core Values of 𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩, 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦.

The event opened with a reflection and prayer led by 𝘔𝘴. 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘤 𝘕𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪, followed by a solemn Marian procession with the Stations of Mary’s Virtues. Set to prayerful hymns, the procession allowed Marians to pay tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary while recalling the virtues she practiced throughout her life.

Demonstrating deep devotion and generosity, students presented floral offerings, love letters, and personal gifts expressing gratitude for Mary's guidance, alongside community donations ranging from food to personal-care essentials. A major highlight was an inspiring presentation and role play by the Grade 12 - Our Lady Queen of All Saints who offered their gifts and talents to reflect the event’s Marian message of hope.

The celebration concluded with a closing prayer and final blessing from 𝘚. 𝘔𝘢. 𝘈𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘛𝘦𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘪, 𝘙𝘝𝘔.

A total of ‎22 aspiring student journalists gathered at the SMA-Ligao Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on August 12, 2026, for the 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱, with the theme, "𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦; 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨."

‎The event began with opening remarks and introductions led by 𝘔𝘴. 𝘈𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢 𝘝. 𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘴. 𝘑𝘰𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘦 𝘒𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘭 𝘗. 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘭.

‎Following the opening, resource speakers took the stage to share their expertise. 𝘔𝘳. 𝘑𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘊. 𝘗𝘦𝘥𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘢 led a session on Editorial Cartooning, highlighting visual commentary, while 𝘔𝘳. 𝘙𝘑𝘢𝘺 𝘚. 𝘖𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢 emphasized the critical role of accuracy and effective storytelling in Photojournalism and News Writing.

LOOK | SMA-L Altar Servers and MIC Pilgrimage 2026

On August 8, 2026, the SMA-L Altar Servers and Mother Ignacia Club (MIC) embarked on a meaningful pilgrimage as they visited two well-known churches in the Diocese of Legazpi—the Our Lady of Salvation Church in Joroan, Tiwi, Albay, and the St. Gregory the Great Cathedral in Legazpi City.

Despite the gloomy weather, the Marian students journeyed with enthusiasm and joyful hearts, strengthening their faith and deepening their devotion as they celebrated the 75th Diamond Jubilee Year of the Diocese of Legazpi.

May this pilgrimage be a beautiful reminder of faith, unity, and the Marian spirit that continues to guide our young pilgrims.
