As 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙏𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙒: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 comes to a close, the 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 officially concluded the HUMSS Week celebration yesterday through a closing program, recognizing the remarkable efforts, talents, and insights shared throughout the week’s activities.

From debates and speeches to stories, performances, and expressions of thought, each moment reflected the spirit of HUMSS— students learning to see the world with deeper awareness and purpose. 💜💙✨

As the celebration ends, the lens remains—
continuing to guide how we observe, understand, and shape the realities around us.

As part of 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙏𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙒: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, the 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 proudly hosted the 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝘂𝗸𝘂𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼, 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆, and 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼 as the competitions for this year’s HUMSS Week concluded yesterday.

Through stories, verses, and portrayals of barrio life, participants reflected on what young eyes witness today—
transforming observation into expression, and experience into meaningful voice. 💜💙✨

Because in HUMSS, when the youth dare to look closer, they begin to understand the world they live in—

As part of 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙏𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙒: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, the 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 proudly hosted the Debate Competition, where students engaged in thoughtful discourse on pressing social and political issues.

Through reasoned arguments, evidence, and critical analysis, participants examined complex questions and challenged one another to see beyond a single viewpoint. 💜💙✨

Because in HUMSS, dialogue sharpens the lens, transforming opinions into understanding, and debate into deeper awareness.

As part of 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙏𝘼𝙏𝘼𝙒: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, the 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗗𝗶𝘄𝗮 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗦𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 successfully held the 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘂 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 competitions on Thursday morning, where students transformed thoughts into words and perspectives into powerful expression. 💜💙✨

𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀.

History has never been changed by those who waited for it to begin. It has always been shaped by those who stood when silence was safer— who spoke when oppression was louder than justice, who refused to normalize systemic abuse, corruption, and the erasure of truth.

It is our civic duty to stand for what is right— to question, to participate, to act. Not only as HUMSS students trained to examine society, but as Filipinos entrusted with its future.

EDSA @ 40: NEVER FORGET ✊

Today, February 25, marks 40 years since the EDSA People Power Revolution peacefully toppled the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and restored democracy in the Philippines.

Four decades on, we remain steadfast in defending the freedom, justice and people’s sovereignty that EDSA fought for.

𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘀— 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸.

For two days, what once trembled in silence found its voice. What once stayed folded in hearts was finally unfolded in ink. And that alone— that courage to express— is what truly matters.

“𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘀” by 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘆𝘀 became a reminder that love does not disappear just because it is unspoken; it only waits— and when given the space, it speaks.

Today, as we close this freedom board, we carry more than notes and memories.
We carry confessions released, goodbyes acknowledged, feelings finally named.
And in that release, 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡.

The board may not stay beside SDRR forever; the papers may be taken down; the ink may fade... but may we remember this—
𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱.
It is not confined to a week.
It does not end on Day 2.

Because even when the space is gone,
𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘, 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗜𝗦— and will always be— 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴. 💜💙✨
