Currently living and working abroad in China, I find joy in blending my love for education with the adventure of exploring new cultures. Teaching young children is not just my job; it

's my calling. Watching their eyes light up when they discover something new is the most rewarding part of my day, and I strive to create a fun, engaging classroom where curiosity flourishes! When I’m not in the classroom, you'll often find me documenting our family’s little adventures during holidays and vacations. We love exploring local attractions, trying out delicious dishes like dumplings, Peking duck, and mapo tofu, or simply enjoying a cozy day at home. Each experience, whether good or challenging, brings us closer together and teaches us something new. Join me as I share stories about our experiences living and working abroad, along with our favorite culinary discoveries! Visit my YouTube Channel: https://urlgeni.us/youtube/channel/goodwillearning

🇵🇭🇨🇳 Reposting these FUN FRIDAY RHYMES in case you missed them in my mini vlog!

Nursery rhymes are a great way to help ESL learners practice speaking, listening, and using English in a fun way. 🎶🗣️

I also love using real-life objects to reinforce the words and make learning more meaningful! 🌹💙

Save these rhymes and try them with your little learners! 👇

🇵🇭🇨🇳Naglakad lang ako sa park this Sunday afternoon before heading to a nearby coffee shop to work. May playdate kasi si Alex with the boys, so I had a little time to myself.

Habang naglalakad, napansin ko yong dating parang walang buhay —tapos ngayon, ang ganda-ganda na. I was honestly amazed. 🥹

Napa-life reflection tuloy ako.
We all go through different seasons. And sometimes, we just need to give ourselves time to bloom again.

Blessed Sunday po sa lahat! 💗

PS: Lots of modeling + repetition at first—eventually, they’ll be saying the rhymes on their own! 🥰

Trying something new… and I need your help! 👀🇵🇭🇨🇳
For years, I’ve tried to keep my YouTube content in English or add English subtitles because many of my subscribers originally found me through my ESL teaching videos during my early years in China.

But lately, I’ve been doing more Taglish vlogs because honestly… mas natural ako magkwento that way, and I really want to connect more with my fellow Pinoys. 🥹

Then I got this comment, and it made me stop and think. 👀

I know I want to reach more Filipinos, but I also have some non-Filipino subscribers, even though my channel is still small. So I’m trying to find a balance where I can be myself while still making my content understandable to more people.

So help me decide:
A. English only — no subtitles
B. Taglish + English subtitles

What would you prefer? 👇

I’m genuinely experimenting here, so your feedback will help me decide what direction to take. Salamat po.💗

🎥 Mini Vlog: Kumusta ang FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL sa International School sa China?🇵🇭🇨🇳

It was supposed to be a short day… PERO ang daming ganap! 😂

🇵🇭✈️ I’ve been that teacher who ran to the bathroom and cried.

To the teacher who is struggling, exhausted, frustrated, or even scared to show up—I see you. You are not alone. 💗

As a teacher, I’ve also had one of the toughest classes of my teaching career. Little by little, nawalan rin ng ganang magturo.

There were days when I felt exhausted, frustrated, and completely overwhelmed. I can’t count how many times I cried, took a deep breath, and went back to my classroom.

So when I see teachers struggling today, I deeply understand.

And I want to be clear: I’m not romanticizing teaching abroad. The challenges we see in the Philippines are not only happening in the Philippines. Teachers everywhere are facing increasingly complex behaviors and needs—including where I work. Mas challenging pa minsan when working with a multicultural community, because children come from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Pero I am grateful for having supportive school leaders.

When a situation became more than I could handle alone, there were people and systems in place to step in and help—such as school counselors, learning support, and individualized education programs.

I deeply pray na sana magkaroon din tayo ng stronger systems like these in the Philippines.

Because sometimes, the child we call “bad,” “disrespectful,” or “difficult” may actually be a child crying for help.

That doesn’t mean we excuse harmful behavior or remove accountability. It means we look beyond the behavior and ask:

“What is this child trying to tell us, and how can we help?”

But teachers cannot carry this responsibility alone.

Children need guidance and accountability.
Teachers need support and protection.
Families need to take responsibility and work alongside schools.

🙏 I pray that our educational system and government can build stronger systems that protect teachers, support children, and provide help when situations go beyond what one teacher can handle alone.

Because maybe we shouldn’t only ask:
“What’s wrong with this child?”

Maybe we should also ask:
“What is this child going through—and how can we, as adults, help?” ❤️🇵🇭

🇵🇭✈️ I deeply believe character education is just as important as academics.

At the beginning of this school year, we are learning to LEARN 📚, LOVE 💗, and LEAD 📝, and each month we focus on a different character trait.

Just like we teach reading, writing, and math facts, character should also be explicitly taught—with lots of modeling and practice.

Children are not born knowing how to be respectful, empathetic, responsible, or how to manage their emotions. They need adults to teach, model, and guide them.

Discipline starts at home and should be reinforced at school. 🏠🏫

Let’s build positive character traits that help children become kind, responsible, and caring members of society.

So, parents and teachers, let’s work together. 🤝

Let’s raise children who LEARN with curiosity, LOVE with compassion, and LEAD with kindness. 🙏🏿💗

🇵🇭✈️Today’s Open House (Meet the Teacher) made me think about my early beginnings and how far this journey has taken me.💗

Can’t believe 13 years of teaching na pala across these 3 countries. 🇵🇭🇹🇭🇨🇳

Gaya ng sinabi ko sa resume video, appreciate your early beginnings. If you’re just starting out, tuloy lang. Keep learning, gain experience, and take it one step at a time.

Curious ako… ilang years ka na nagtuturo? 👩‍🏫👇

Comment your number below! Let’s celebrate every year of teaching, kahit gaano pa ’yan katagal.

BTW….Here’s my last year’s classroom door to this year’s door! 🚪Same theme, just switched up a little bit.

Which one do you like better?
2025–2026 or 2026–2027?
