Barongis High School Conducts Immediate Stress Debriefing

BARONGIS HIGH SCHOOL — Following a security threat received by the adjacent school, Mr. Rey C. Celestial as the school principal immediately initiated a stress debriefing session for the teaching personnel after the suspension of classes and the safe release of all students from the campus.
The immediate response highlighted the school administration’s commitment to the safety and well-being of both learners and personnel. Teachers worked together to ensure that all students were properly accounted for and safely dismissed before the debriefing commenced.

The session provided teachers an opportunity to process the stressful incident, express their concerns, and receive reassurance and guidance. The principal reminded the personnel that fear, anxiety, and uncertainty are natural reactions during such situations, but emphasized the importance of remaining calm, composed, and vigilant. He encouraged everyone to rely on verified information, follow established safety protocols, and support one another.

The debriefing also reinforced the importance of preparedness, responsible communication, and coordination with proper authorities. The school administration expressed appreciation to the teaching personnel for their cooperation and composure in ensuring the safe release of learners.

Through immediate action and collective support, Barongis High School continues to uphold its commitment to maintaining a safe, prepared, and supportive school community.

We recently conducted a highly informative dual orientation focused on protecting our students both physically and emotionally.

The session on Active Attack Incidents in School was led by our dedicated SDRRM Coordinator, Ma’am Queeny A. Jalandoni, who equipped everyone with life-saving skills and the vital protocol to Run, Hide, Fight in times of emergency. 🏃‍♂️🫣💪

Following this, Ma’am Emy Lou Mandigal took the stage as the Speaker for the Anti-Bullying Orientation, emphasizing the importance of kindness, respect, and creating a safe, inclusive environment for every learner. 🤝❤️

Underneath the sunlit skies of Barongis High School, the bells of academic labor gave way to a symphony of laughter and light. Our End-of-Term Block has officially commenced, casting aside the weight of books for the sweet release of play.

We began our festival of joy with Blind Volleyball—a beautiful dance of trust where sight was hidden, but spirit shone through. Across every section and every grade level, students stepped onto the court not with their eyes, but with their hearts, relying on the voices of their peers to guide the ball over the canvas wall.

In the absence of vision, we found a deeper connection. Every serve was a leap of faith, every cheer a bridge built between different classrooms, and every shared laugh a memory etched into the story of our youth.

Congratulations to all our brave participants who turned the court into a tapestry of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The term is ending, but the joy of our shared journey is only just beginning.

Barongis High School successfully conducted an awareness activity led by the RHU-Libungan HIV/AIDS Program, with the theme “Knowledge is Protection: Empowering Youth Through Awareness.”

The activity began with a solemn prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, setting a meaningful and respectful atmosphere for an important discussion with our Grade 12 students.

The learners were empowered with valuable knowledge on Teenage Pregnancy, HIV Awareness and Prevention, and Bullying. The sessions were facilitated by Aljane P. Doquino, RN, who discussed Teenage Pregnancy together with Princess Nicole R. Apostol, RMT. Also Dennis G. Banaga, RN, who shared important information on HIV Awareness and Prevention and PMSg Jerica J. Ostique, RN, who tackled Bullying and the importance of creating a safe and respectful school community. Through open discussions and awareness, our Grade 12 learners were reminded that knowledge, responsible choices, respect, and compassion can help protect themselves and others.

Together, let us continue empowering the youth to make informed decisions and build a healthier, safer, and more supportive community. 🌱💪
