We innovate for rights. We lead with purpose!!!

The Gender and Development (GAD) Office of NEMSU-Lianga Campus, through its Campus GAD Focal Person, Dr. Jane Cervantes Oropa, together with selected student leaders from the Bachelor of Elementary Education, Jefferson Lumigon, and Bachelor of Secondary Education, Altheo Cardillo, actively participated in the 1st Caraga Student Leaders Human Rights Innovation Lab 2026 held on September 7โ€“9, 2026, in Oazis Hotel, Butuan City.

Organized by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Caraga Regional Office, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Philippines, the Innovation Lab provided a meaningful platform for young leaders across the Caraga Region to deepen their understanding of human rights, youth leadership, advocacy, collaboration, innovation, and gender-responsive action.

Through interactive learning and collaborative activities, participants explored pressing concerns affecting young people, including bullying, cyber violence, discrimination, misinformation, gender-based violence, and other human rights issues, while developing practical and youth-led approaches to addressing these challenges.

The participation of NEMSU Lianga Campus reflects its continuing commitment to empowering students as responsible, inclusive, gender-responsive, and human rights-oriented leaders who can contribute meaningfully to building safer, more equitable, and empowered school and community environments.

Sincere appreciation and gratitude to Atty. Cembrano and Sir Edison of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Caraga, and Maโ€™am Yan of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) Philippines, for their guidance, support, and dedication in creating meaningful spaces where young leaders can learn, engage, innovate, and become stronger advocates for human rights.

From ideas to innovation.
From leadership to human rights advocacy๐Ÿซฐ.Together, let us continue to innovate for rights and lead for a more inclusive and gender-responsive future. โœŠ

Hear Women's Voices!
In support to the 2026 Women's Month Celebration, NEMSU- Lianga Campus proudly honors and celebrates remarkable women whose leadership, dedication, and advocacy continue to shape a more inclusive, equitable, and empowered community. Today, we shine the spotlight on three extraordinary women who have exemplified unwavering commitment to women empowerment in their respective fields:

Hon. Cynthia Pantaleon Sajot , PhD, a distinguished SB Member and Chairperson of multiple committees in the LGU of Lianga, and a former Campus Director of NEMSU Lianga Campus, stands as a pillar of transformative leadership. Her advocacy centers on amplifying womenโ€™s voices in governance, ensuring that women are not only represented but are active architects of community development. Through her initiatives, she has continuously opened doors for women to lead, decide, and thrive in public service.

Madam Catherine F. Salomon, the present OIC Campus Director, leads with vision and compassion. She champions the vital role of women in education, administration, and nation-building. Her leadership fosters an environment where women are encouraged to pursue excellence, take on leadership roles, and contribute meaningfully to institutional growth. She believes that empowered women in academia create empowered generations.

Dr. Jane Cervantes Oropa , serving as the GAD Campus Focal Person, strongly emphasizes the evolving and powerful role of women in this generation. She advocates that todayโ€™s women are not confined by traditional expectations but are leaders, innovators, and changemakers across all sectors. Through her work, she inspires women to embrace their identities with confidence, break barriers, and actively shape a future grounded in equality, respect, and opportunity for all.

Together, these remarkable women embody strength, resilience, and purpose. Their collective efforts remind us that women are powerful agents of change, capable of leading in governance, excelling in education, and transforming communities.

Let us continue to uplift, support, and celebrate women in all walks of life. Because when women rise, communities flourish.
