In compliance with the directives of the Department of Education and as part of the nationwide observance of the Second Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), Lian National High School – Annex B Site successfully conducted the drill on June 18, 2026.

The activity was participated in by learners, teachers, school personnel, and the SDRRM Focal Person, Mr. Rommel G. Maghanay, who helped oversee the proper implementation of the drill and adherence to established safety protocols.

Participants actively demonstrated the correct earthquake response procedures, including the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique and orderly evacuation practices. The drill aimed to enhance disaster preparedness, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and promote a culture of safety within the school community.

Earthquakes can occur at any time and without warning, making regular drills essential in ensuring that everyone is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies. Through the NSED, schools are provided with opportunities to practice coordinated response actions and reinforce the importance of preparedness in reducing risks and protecting lives.

Lian National High School remains committed to supporting disaster risk reduction and management initiatives by fostering awareness, preparedness, and resilience among learners, personnel, and stakeholders.

This year's celebration carries a special significance for the school community as it coincides with the presence of our newly installed flagpole—a proud addition that now stands at the heart of our main campus. More than a structure, it serves as a symbol of our shared identity, aspirations, and commitment to the values represented by the Philippine flag.

Each time the flag is raised, it reminds us that the freedom we enjoy today was earned through the sacrifices of those who came before us. It also challenges every Batang Linahis to uphold the ideals of patriotism, responsibility, integrity, and service to others.

In line with the school’s continuing efforts to strengthen health awareness and promote learner well-being, Lian National High School conducted a Reproductive Health Talk aimed at equipping learners with accurate and age-appropriate information on adolescent health and responsible decision-making.

The school extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Gerard Majello B. Dalisay, MD, Municipal Health Officer of Lian, for serving as the resource speaker and for generously sharing his expertise on reproductive health. His discussion provided valuable insights on personal health care, responsible behavior, and informed choices that are essential during adolescence. The school likewise acknowledges the assistance of Ms. Luningning Lejano and Ms. Michelle M. Apdua in supporting Dr. Dalisay during the conduct of the session, contributing to the smooth and successful implementation of the activity.

The activity was made possible through the support of the Municipal Health Office of Lian, reinforcing the shared commitment of the school and local health unit in promoting holistic learner development, health awareness, and overall well-being.
