After two training sessions filled with valuable insights on the SDGs and student leadership in community impact projects, participants have moved beyond just learning to truly taking action.
🎤 This webinar marks a key milestone, where students from 7 international universities across the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam will present their projects and receive in-depth feedback from speaker Prof. Ritesh Chugh, from Central Queensland University, Australia opening the door for initial ideas to evolve into practical and sustainable solutions.

This is more than just a sharing session. It is a space where ideas are refined, perspectives are expanded, and meaningful impact for the community begins to take shape.

Last March 26–27, 2026, the extension project “Building New Beginnings: A Livelihood Training and Skills Development for Persons Deprived of Liberty” was successfully implemented for the first time at the Isabel District Jail, Isabel, Leyte. The two-day training focused on Dishwashing Liquid Making as a practical and sustainable livelihood opportunity.

The initiative was led by Project Leader, Engr. Simon Peter P. Diano, and carried out with the strong support of Engr. Darry Mhei L. Morales, Director for Research, Extension, and Innovation; SJ04 Mark Anthony B. Cabojoc, Jail Warden of BJMP Isabel; and JO2 Enrique G. Buta, Chief of the Welfare and Development Section. The activity was conducted in partnership with BJMP Isabel.

The primary objective was to empower Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) by equipping them with relevant skills and knowledge that can serve as a foundation for a fresh start and a more sustainable future.

Participants not only gained technical competence in producing dishwashing liquid but also received valuable instruction on financial literacy and marketing—essential components for building small-scale livelihood ventures.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to restoring hope, building skills, and creating opportunities for new beginnings. It affirms that with the right support and access to knowledge, transformation is always within reach.
