FOR: SEVERE TROPICAL STORM “ ”
TROPICAL CYCLONE: WARNING

ISSUED AT 11:00 AM, 13 DECEMBER 2015
(Valid for broadcast until the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today)“NONA” CONTINUES TO GAIN STRENGTH AS IT HEADS TOWARDS SAMAR-BICOL AREA.

•Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 300 km diameter of the severe tropical storm.

•It is possible to raise PSWS #1 over Camarines Norte, Southern Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon tonight.
Location of eye/center: At 10:00 AM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm “NONA” was estimated based on all available data at 565 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.1°N, 129.8°E).

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 140 kph.

Forecast Movement:Forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph.
Forecast Positions: •24 hour (Tomorrow morning): 140 km East of Catarman,
Northern Samar

•48 hour (Tuesday morning): 65 km North of Romblon, Romblon or at 150 km East Southeast of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro
•72 hour (Wednesday morning): 140 km West Northwest of Calapan City
•96 hour (Thursday morning): 340 km West Southwest of Calapan City
•120 hour (Friday morning): 405 km West of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

PSWS #1 Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Burias, Ticao Islands Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte and Southern Leyte,Dinagat province.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.

Severe Tropical Storm “NONA” has intensified further as it threatens Samar-Bicol Area.

• Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 100 km diameter of the SevereTropical Storm.
• It is possible to raise PSWS #1 over Bicol region today.

Location of eye/center: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm “NONA” was estimated based on all available data at 605 km East of Borongan, Eastern Samar (11.6°N, 131.0°E).

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.
Forecast Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 19 kph.
Forecast Positions:
• 24 hour (Tomorrow morning): 245 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar
• 48 hour (Tuesday morning): In the vicinity of Masbate
• 72 hour (Wednesday morning): 85 km West Northwest of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
• 96 hour (Thursday morning): 365 km West of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro

TROPICAL STORM WITH INTERNATIONAL NAME “MELOR” HAS BEEN RENAMED INTO “NONA” AND ENTER THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR).

•Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 100 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
Location of eye/center:At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm “NONA” was estimated based on all available data at 1,110 km East of Maasin, Southern Leyte (10.2°N, 135.0°E).

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80kph.

Forecast Movement:Forecast to move West Northwest at 25kph.

Forecast Positions: •24 hour (Tomorrow morning): 580 km East of Catbalogan City, Samar.

•48 hour (Monday morning): 370 km East of Sorsogon City, Sorsogon.
•72 hour (Tuesday morning): Vicinity of Virac Catanduanes.
•96 hour (Wednesday morning): 250 km West of Virac Catanduanes.
•120 hour (Thusday morning):150 km West of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
