In celebration of the Ibalong Festival 2026, The Book Nook Legazpi City and the Albay Provincial Library and Information Center returned to the Legazpi Art Pop Market! Over two incredible days, we brought our cozy reading nook right into the heart of the community to champion the joy of reading and make books accessible to everyone.

We were thrilled to see so many familiar and new faces drop by to explore and read works by our talented Filipino authors. From curious young readers to dedicated book lovers, the energy was inspiring and many even signed up for their official library cards and took home their next great read!

Heartfelt thanks to the Legazpi City Government , Art Lane Philippines, and the Albay Arts Foundation for inviting us back and giving us the platform to foster a stronger reading culture in our community.

Special gratitude as well to the Office of the Vice-Governor, headed by Hon. Farida S. Co, for providing our service vehicle and ensuring our team and book collections were transported safely back and forth to the venue throughout the two-day event!

Throwback to August 6, 2019, a sobering day when a National Dengue Epidemic was declared in the Philippines after cases reached 146,062 nationwide.

In response, DOH-CHD Caraga joined forces with local leadership, health workers, and key stakeholders at the Libertad Covered Court in Butuan City to launch the Enhanced 4S Strategy and revive the classic 4 o'Clock Habitโ€”a crucial daily routine reminding communities to search and destroy mosquito breeding sites.

Led by Regional Director Dr. Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. and Assistant Regional Director Dr. Gerna Manatad, alongside partners from the PNP, DepEd, CHO, and dedicated BHWs, this united effort helped protect our communities. Thanks to proactive community action and early intervention, the Caraga Region managed to stay below the national epidemic threshold.
