The word “𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞” was never meant to signify arrogance or superiority. Rather, it emerged as a powerful response as the deliberate 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞 that LGBTQ+ individuals were expected to carry.

𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯. 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺. 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥.

Not because LGBTQ+ people believed they were better than anyone else, but because they deserved the same thing everyone else does: 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚.

So when the streets fill with rainbow flags this month of June, remember that Pride is more than a celebration. It is the legacy of people who refused to disappear. It is the story of countless voices that chose visibility over silence, freedom over fear, and hope over exclusion.

An emotional gathering filled with pride for how far we’ve come, and hope for where we are headed. Behind every report was a year of hard work, sacrifices, and passion that shaped the organization into what it is today.

To our outgoing leaders, thank you for carrying the flame with courage and commitment. And to those who now hold it—may you lead with the same heart, and even greater vision.
