FROM CLASSROOM TO CAREER.

Our Transition Class learners proudly participated in the Ibalong Grand Job Fair through the PEP Center’s School-to-Employment Program, in partnership with LGU Legazpi through PESO.

The experience provided meaningful real-world exposure to employment opportunities, communication, social interaction, and self-advocacy. A highlight of the activity was the opportunity for our learners to have brief conversations with Congressman Pido Garbin and DOLE Secretary Francis Tolentino, where they personally advocated for the School-to-Employment Program and promoted Josephine’s Obra Maestra: The Street Wear Fashion Show for a Cause.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Mayor Hisham Ismail, PESO Manager Mr. Diosdado R. Rañeses, and the PESO Legazpi team for continuously opening doors toward inclusion, independence, and meaningful employment for neurodivergent learners.

From learning in the classroom to leading in the workplace!

Through our School to Employment Program (STEP), we aim to bridge the gap between education and meaningful employment for neurodivergent youth. Today, we celebrate Mr. Arvie Arcenal as he takes on his role with the PESO Legazpi team!

Opportunities like this wouldn’t be possible without visionary community leaders. Big thanks to Mayor Hisham Ismail and Sir Dads Rañeses for believing in inclusive employment and partnering with us to empower neurodivergent talent in Legazpi City.

Community Training Highlights

Following our familiarization visit to the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Legazpi, our Transition Education learners continued their community-based training with visits to World of Fun and McDonald’s.

These activities provided meaningful opportunities to develop and apply essential functional, social, and pre-employment skills in a real-world setting. They practiced:

* Budgeting and money management by handling their own allowance and making spending decisions.
* Communication skills by greeting staff, placing their own food orders, asking questions, and expressing their preferences.
* Social interaction by engaging appropriately with peers, employees, and members of the public.
* Decision-making and problem-solving by choosing activities and meals.
* Waiting and turn-taking while lining up and following game rules.
* Community navigation by safely moving around the mall and following directions.
* Time management by following the group’s schedule.
* Self-advocacy by requesting water and condiments, following up on their orders, and asking for assistance when needed.
* Independence and self-confidence by completing tasks with minimal support.
* Community awareness by demonstrating appropriate behavior in public spaces.

Every community outing transforms everyday experiences into meaningful learning. Through these authentic experiences, our Transition Education learners continue to build the confidence, independence, and practical life skills needed for successful community participation and future employment.

Community Training: PESO Legazpi Familiarization Visit

This month’s Community Training was a meaningful step toward preparing our Transition Education learners for future employment opportunities. Through our familiarization visit to the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Legazpi City, our students gained valuable exposure to the workplace, learned about the services offered by PESO, and experienced a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Faces of PEP Center – August

Hi! My name is Daniella Wendi, and I am a learner in the Transition Class at The PEP Center.

I truly enjoy participating in school activities, especially cooking and community service. Through these experiences, I have developed my dance and performance skills, learned essential cooking and daily living skills, and become more independent and confident.

My dream is to reach my full potential and become a productive worker in the future. I am grateful to be part of a school with supportive and caring teachers who continue to help me discover my strengths and believe in my abilities.

Every day at PEP Center brings me one step closer to my goals, and I know that with hard work, determination, and the support of my PEP family, I can achieve my dreams.

Faces of PEP Center – August

Hi! I’m Regine A. Broñosa, a Licensed Professional Teacher, proud graduate of Daraga Community College with a degree in Biological Science, and a mother whose children inspire me to become the best educator I can be.

I joined The PEP Center because I wanted to grow professionally while helping every learner discover their potential. My goal is to inspire children to stay in school, believe in themselves, and celebrate every step of their learning journey.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy tutoring, supporting sponsored children in our barangay, and making time for physical activities. My students have taught me that learning is a two-way journey, they remind me to appreciate life's little moments, laugh often, and never stop asking questions.

I hope to leave my students with the confidence to believe in themselves, the courage to embrace challenges, and a lifelong love for learning. Every child has unique potential, and I am grateful to be part of their journey toward a brighter future.

National Nutrition Month 2026 Highlights

This Nutrition Month, our learners enthusiastically celebrated the theme “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan.” Through engaging and meaningful activities, they explored the importance of healthy eating, creativity, and teamwork.

From colorful Nutri-Costume and Headdress Competitions, poster-making, and nutrition-themed learning activities, to preparing healthy fruit snacks and recognizing outstanding participants, every activity encouraged our learners to make healthier choices while caring for the environment.

Congratulations to all our participants and winners! Thank you to our dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and everyone who made this celebration meaningful and memorable.

Together, we continue to inspire healthier lifestyles and brighter futures for every learner.
