𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗿 - 𝗟𝗧𝗢 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗲
MULING nagbabala ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa publiko hinggil sa pakikipagtransaksyon sa mga fixer na sa halip na makabuti ay maaaring magdulot ng problema o sila’y mabiktima at maging mitsa rin ng buhay ng tao.
Babala ito ni LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade kasunod ng pagkaka-aresto sa mga umano'y fixer sa magkahiwalay na insidente sa Iloilo City at sa Oas, Albay.
“It seems these fixers are really desperate for money. Admittedly, life is still hard, especially that many are still recovering from the economic effects of the pandemic, but it is never, and will never be, enough reason to engage in criminal acts such as fixing. There will be consequences, and at the LTO, we will make sure that illegal activities such as fixing will be dealt with severely according to our laws,” pagbibigay-diin ni LTO Chief Tugade.
Kamakailan ay naaresto ang ilang suspek sa magkahiwalay na entrapment operations na isinagawa ng mga LTO regional office at law enforcement official sa Iloilo at sa Bicol.
Dinakip ng LTO Region 6 katuwang ang mga tauhan ng San Rafael Municipal Police Station (MPS) sa Iloilo, ang suspek na iniulat na opisyal ng barangay sa Barangay Ilongbukid sa San Rafael, Iloilo. Ang pag-aresto sa suspek ay may kaugnayan sa pagbebenta umano nito ng pekeng driver’s license sa mga residente at tauhan ng barangay sa halagang P5,650.
Sinampahan na ng kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 11032 o ang “Ease of Doing Business Law” at ang ilang bilang ng falsification of public documents alinsunod sa Revised Penal Code at Usurpation of Authority, laban sa suspek gayundin ang kanyang kasabwat na umano’y nagtatrabaho sa LTO Central Office sa Quezon City, sa Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor's Office sa Jaro, Iloilo City.
Sa Bicol naman, nahuli ng joint team ng LTO Region 5 at Albay Provincial Field Unit (PFU) at Oas MPS ang suspek na nagpanggap na empleyado ng LTO ngunit kalaunan ay natukoy na isang volunteer traffic enforcer ng Oas Anti-Crime & Community Emergency Response Team (ACCERT). Sinubukan umano ng suspek na mangikil ng P7,500 sa complainant kapalit ng agarang pagproseso ng driver’s license application ng sinasabing biktima.
Nakapiit na ngayon ang suspek sa Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Albay PFU at nahaharap sa kasong estafa dahil sa paglabag sa Article 315 ng Revised Penal Code.
Pinuri naman ni LTO Chief Tugade ang agarang aksyon ng mga opisyal ng LTO Ligao District Office sa pamumuno ni LTO Region V Director Francisco Ranches Jr. at Assistant Regional Director Vincent Nato gayundin ang LTO Region VI officials sa pangunguna nina Regional Director Eric Lenard Tabaldo at Assistant Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II, at ang PNP para sa matagumpay na pagdakip sa mga suspek.
“Tuluy-tuloy po ang kampanya ng LTO laban sa mga ‘fixer’ sa buong bansa at higit na palalakasin hanggang sa tuluyang masawata. Muli ay ang aming apela sa publiko na huwag nilang tangkilikin ang alok na serbisyo ng mga 'fixer' dahil malinaw na ilegal ito. Mayruon tayong tamang proseso at huwag idaan sa shortcut dahil buhay ang malalagay sa panganib kung walang tamang kaalaman sa pagmamaneho at lansangan ang mabibigyan ng driver’s license,” saad ni LTO Chief Tugade.
