GREEN ARCHERS STORM BACK IN FOURTH TO BEAT UPHSD ALTAS

AUGUST 23 — The De La Salle University Green Archers saved their best for last, mounting a furious fourth-quarter comeback to stun the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Altas, 78–72, in the Roxas City Invitational Tournament at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center.

La Salle entered the final quarter trailing by nine, 61–52, after UPH controlled the game through the first three periods.

The Green Archers stayed within striking distance early, with the teams locked at 19-all after the opening quarter. UPH then created separation in the second, taking a 39–32 lead at halftime, before extending its advantage to nine points heading into the fourth.

Then came the La Salle rally.

The Green Archers erupted for 26 points in the final quarter while holding UPH to just 11, completely flipping the momentum and turning a nine-point deficit into a six-point victory.

Jacob Zion Cortez spearheaded the comeback with 20 points, while Jan Clement Macalalag added 16. Mason Francis Amos chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists to help La Salle control the game when it mattered most.

Mark Gojo Cruz led UPHSD with 16 points, but the Altas could not withstand La Salle's late surge.
