In Laudato Siโ (p. 25), Pope Francis reminds us that โclimate change is a global problem with grave implications... it represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day.โ Floods, storms, and disasters are no longer distant warnings; they are the Earthโs cries echoing our neglect.
When we exploit rather than protect, when we consume without care, Creation responds with pain. The flood is not only a tragedy of nature but also a call to conscience. It urges us to renew our covenant with the Earth, to live simply, love deeply, and protect this common home entrusted to us by God.
Let every drop of floodwater awaken in us a tide of compassion and conversion, until peace, not destruction, flows once more through Creation.
